About this listen

England, 1882. Evelyn is bored with society and its expectations. So when her beloved sister, Rose, mysteriously vanishes, she ignores her parents and travels to London to find her, accompanied by the dashing Mr. Kent. But they're not the only ones looking for Rose. The reclusive young gentleman Sebastian Braddock is also searching for her, claiming that both sisters have special healing powers. Evelyn is convinced that Sebastian must be mad, until she discovers that his strange tales of extraordinary people are true - and that her sister is in graver danger than she feared.

Ah-mahhhzzzzingg

The story is incredible, the writing is captivating and pulls you in. The banter between the characters is everything and then the narrators…they stole the show. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed an audiobook more.

not as great as I hoped

The story started out really interesting but by the halfway point I was pretty much bored but the ending did I get a little more interesting not sure at this point whether or not I'll listen to book 2

Good Idea, Boring Plot

2.5 stars
I admit, the idea seemed so good, but the plot itself was so boring mainly because I couldn't connect to Evelyn at all, she annoyed me a lot and I couldn't see her point of view on most things
The story is about Evelyn's journey to retrieve her sister when she is kidnapped, but the surprising thing is .. Evelyn has a super power, with the help of two guys, Me. Kent and Sebastian they must find her sister before it's too late
The ending was satisfactory to me, I really don't know what will happen in the next book .. but this was not a good start to the series

The narration was so monotone that I couldn't feel any emotion .. she could've done a better job than this
