About this listen
Thirteen years of fear.
Thirteen years of running.
Thirteen years of surviving.
Thirteen years of lonliness.
Rebecca Wareman is a single mother by choice. She’s spent the last thirteen years of her life living solely for her daughter. But what happens if she finds someone who makes her really want to live again? And what if the things she’s been running from finally catch up?
Lucas Marshall is a police officer raised by his grandparents. He’s spent the majority of his adult life by himself and been fine with it. But what happens when a curvy, brunette with a mysterious past literally bumps into him one day? She has fear in her eyes and a past she’s clearly running from. Will he be able to step in and keep them safe?

Lana Fleming’s sister has vanished from the set of TV’s hottest show, and no one seems to care. Desperate for answers, Lana sneaks in as an extra, only to get stranded with Griffin Hart, an A-list action star with a reputation for good abs and bad decisions. Though Griffin didn’t expect to be cast as a librarian’s sidekick in a real-life thriller, he’s weirdly into it—and into her. Even more unsettling—she sees right through his playboy persona. But their meet-cute soon turns deadly when they uncover a Hollywood scandal for the ages.

Story
Liv’s happy with life in her thirties. She has two cats, one BFF, and no boyfriend, which is just how she likes it. Plus, she loves working at a not-for-profit software company where she can be her authentically autistic self. This is her happy ever after. But when her beloved firm merges with a repulsive rival, Liv finds herself competing with her sort-of-ex for the top job. Sure, Finn had been Liv’s best friend, with his nerdy good looks and their shared love of Tolkien, but there was that one night, their song, and … well, she doesn’t like to talk about it.

There’s just one problem—the best man is infuriating, overprotective, and anti-marriage.

Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Couldn’t be more captivating
The authors, realistic storytelling really draws you in and connects you on so many personal levels! The narrator could not have done a better job of portrait, this story and really digging deep into the strong, emotional and dark telling

Such an amazing story!
This was a quick read/ listen but it was absolutely beautiful! I love a single mom romance and pairing it with a tattood cop with suspense was the icing on the cake! This book had me smiling laughing and crying all the same time. I cannot wait to read more from this author in the future and see where her journey for these characters goes.

A Mothers Love For Her Child
I loved being back in Lucas and Becks world.
The narrator did a great job bringing the characters to life and made me fall even more in love with the story.
The different voices were done well and I really enjoyed Nans voice. Definitely my favorite.
This gave me all the feels and I found myself smiling, laughing at times, and crying at times.
This is a beautifully written and narrated story about a Mothers love for her child, finding freedom from an abusive ex, and standing on her own two feet again.
Found family will always be my favorite trope and the love and friendships Nat and Becks found warmed my heart.
Lucas is definitely a heart throb!!
