Publisher's summary

Essie Mae Richardson is an elderly, wise, and church-going soul. She lives alone, but spends most of her time worrying about those around her. Using God’s guidance and wisdom picked up over the years, she keeps an eye on things happening around her, and when the time is right, she reaches out to those who don’t even know they need her.

Quite innocently, Ms. Essie touches three families, each in her own special way, causing them to reflect on her words, giving them the love, prayers, and good home-cooked meals needed to help them realize the importance of life. It is through this family-like environment that they meet and form a relationship with themselves, and later, with each other.

Tugs at Heartstrings

I loved the intricacies of this book and the intertwined lives. the main character was very endearing. The ending had a great twist I didn't expect. well done. I didn't think the voices matched the characters that well, but the characters were performed quite well.

Heartfelt

This is an inspiring and God filled story that should be paid close attention to. It takes someone who has a close and personal relationship to God that gives needed directions in what to do and say to help others. Miss Essie did that as she held on to her mantra of everything happening in its own time. All things happen on God's time for those that wait upon Him. This story has motivated me to recommit to talking to God about all things.

Everybody Needs A Ms. Essie

I LOVED Ms. Essie and I loved this story. If only we could all be so lucky to have a Ms. Essie on our lives. Ms. Essie was a kind, generous and wise, GOD fearing woman with a beautiful soul. I loved every word written about her and I didn't want this story to end. I enjoyed the stories of all the other characters and how she ever so gently worked her way into their lives and graciously imparted her wisdom and knowledge on them. This is a must read, you won't be disappointed.

Depth

There weren't a lot of surprises and that was okay. Yet the initial set up of giving me enough info to care about the characters seem to drag. Nice happily-in-Jesus!
