About this listen

Stephanie Plum is back, and she's having a bad hair day - for the whole month of January. She's got to find Mo Bedemier, a beloved neighborhood guy who was caught carrying a concealed weapon. Joe Morelli, homicide cop and local hunk, is keeping his distance; last time he got social with Stephanie, he ended up naked in the middle of the street.

But Steph's not one to say no to a challenge, whether she's after a Mo or a Morelli. With the help of her bounty hunter coach, Ranger, and a former "ho" turned file clerk, Stephanie takes off in hot pursuit.

Critic reviews

"Here's Stephanie Plum, a bail-bond agent from Trenton, N.J., clumping onto the P.I. scene in Doc Martens, with a sassy lip that would stop Philip Marlowe.... Stephanie cracks with '90s 'tude." (People Magazine)

Mystery/Thriller/Comedy a delight and fast read

This is a mystery/thriller/comedy. The Evanovich books are light, silly and fun. They are not for someone who wants a real thriller or deep mystery. This book is another Stephanie Plum book and, like the rest, is very entertaining and well written. Stephanie is the world's worst bounty hunter who lives in NJ. She solves her dilemmas not by reasoning but by totally bumbling into solving them.

Some of the characters in these books stretch credibility but if you accept these books for the comical read they are, they are among the best of their genre. For example, in this book her ex-streetwalker friend, Lula, becomes a bounty-hunter-in-training and she proves to be a hilarious sidekick for Stephanie.

In “Three To Get Deadly” Stephanie's mission is to hunt down Uncle Mo, a beloved candy-store owner, with a very interesting secret life. It's hilarious to watch everyone's reaction whenever Stephanie reveals who it is she's after because “he has never done anything wrong”! The good people of Trenton look down on Stephanie for even thinking of taking in Uncle Mo. There are of course drug dealers and corpses with parts missing along the way.

I highly recommended this light hearted and well-written mystery.

Love the Stephanie Plum series!

I started with "To the Nines" and then went to "Hard Eight" .. when I realized I loved these books and had to have more I started at the begining and am now on "Four to Score". The only problem I had with the first three was Lori Petty who read the books.. I'm glad there is a new narrator. You have to try reading these books.. they are GREAT!

Love Stephanie Plum

I not only enjoy reading about Stepanie Plum -- I also look forward to listening to the books on my iPod. It's fun to see where Stepanie started out in her relationships with Ranger, Morelli, Lula, etc. Lori Petty is not my favorite reader in the Plum series. Lorelei King is much better. Why no unabridged version for those of us who love Janet Evanovich?

Stephanie Plum does it again

Another easy apprehension or so it seemed. Stephanie gets down and dirty when bodies start turning up at every turn. The case turns into drugs and porn with a chase thru a mall along with a bad hair day.
The humor and plot twists in this chapter of Stephanie's life kept this book interesting all the way thru.
And it would not be complete without something getting blown up in the process.
It took me awhile to get use to the raspy monotone voice of Lori Petty, but over all the book was great.

the Voice Matters

Always enjoy the stories with Ms Plum, but this time struggled with the narrator's accent. Yes, Jersey is the location but the accent was over much.

Hooked

until I discovered Lori Petty doesn't narrate any of the remaining Stephanie Plum books. Lori Petty is great and made the audio books for me. I love her Jersey accent and quirky voice.

I'm not hip on any of the other narrators except maybe Debi Mazar so after listening to those, I'll finish the rest of the books by reading not listening. I think this is a great series and really enjoy Janet's style of writing.

Abridged version seems rushed

I enjoy the Stephanie Plum stories and this one is no exception. My only complaint is that there are only abridged versions available on audible for the early books and this one in particular seems rushed and lacking in the areas that give life to the characters.

A fun listen! Keeps me entertained but little stress.

I think the narrator of this series is spot on... I love that she can portray a variety of characters without confusing the reader. Her accent is so believable. Just plain fun.

I've listened to these before, Lori Petty doesn't cut it! Can I return it?
