Story
In 2008 veteran journalist Evan Wright, acclaimed for his New York Times best-selling book Generation Kill and co-writer of the Emmy-winning HBO series it spawned, began a series of conversations with super-criminal Jon Roberts, star of the fabulously successful documentary Cocaine Cowboys. Those conversations would last three years, during which time Wright came to realize that Roberts was much more than the de-facto “transportation chief” of the Medellin Cartel during the 1980s, much more than a facilitator of a national drug epidemic.

Story
This isn't some "Rah, Rah" bullshit book that's designed to make you feel good about having a f--ked up life. I wrote this book to show those of you out there that are in the struggle, what's possible if you work for it. Nothing in life is free. Everything costs money or time. Allow me to save you both by listening to this book. Some of the stories you will hear in this book will be hard to believe, but they are true nonetheless. I've replayed many of these scenes and scripts in my mind 1,000 times, trying to figure out how in the hell things went down the way they did.

It's also the story of a boy born in poverty in Texas who grew up in a single-parent household in the heart of South Central, who was pushed through the school system each year and came out illiterate. His options were few, and he turned to drug dealing. This untold autobiography is not only personal, but also historical in its implications.

Jung's early business of flying marijuana into the United States from the mountains of Mexico took a dramatic turn when he met Carlos Lehder, a young Colombian car thief with connections to the then newly-born cocaine operation in his native land. Together they created a new model for selling cocaine.

Would you consider the audio edition of Ticket Man: Inside the Criminal Underworld of New York City to be better than the print version?
A book audio is new for me. My first impression is it's telling a wonderful story with enthusiasm. The voice has a little New York accent and switches from a 14 year old boy to the main character so well. I had it on while driving a two hour ride and the trip flew by. I tried to imagine what the characters look like, and wanted to hear it till it finishes. What was one of the most memorable moments of Ticket Man: Inside the Criminal Underworld of New York City?
The accent and enthusiasm in his voice. What about Steve Stansell’s performance did you like?
He's excellent! If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Pursuit of a dangerous life always ends bad Except........Any additional comments?
Love the book and would love to see it as a movie. Sean Penn plays Juliano and Jack Nicholson plays Johnny.Wow great voice!
