What a disturbed mind

Great narration! But you must read description carefully. I was expecting a sci-fi element in the story from the book graphic. But I quickly found that this story was an oddly gripping journey inside a very distraught man. The premise that our perception of current reality is a result of our accumulation of memories has stayed with me hours after finishing...it was a sad story but Joshua Saxon's voice and performance glued me to the finish.

Time Travel. It's All In Your Head!

Ever want to go back to when you were a kid and change some mistake you made that you have lived with your whole life?
Well this book will show you how.
Certainly a different take on time travel. This one will keep you guessing on whether you are in the past or present.
Narration was a bit dry but still fit the story.

Not what I expected

If you choose this story as a science fiction/time travel book, there is a very big chance that you will be disappointed. But if you choose it as a thriller/portrait of dysfunction, I think you will be well rewarded.

This book is extremely difficult to review without revealing something about the plot, and I hate spoilers, but there is no getting around them completely. So read with caution...

I chose this book because I love science fiction and time-travel stories. That is what I expected here, and at first, that is what was delivered, or so it seemed. And I loved how the author dealt with time travel. The time traveler could only travel within their own lifetime, and influence the behavior of their younger selves. This way, they could "fix" the things that went wrong in their lives. I kept wondering what would happen if the fix meant that they would never invent time travel. But I loved the idea of being able to go back and fix the mistakes in my life. Beautiful. And being able to go back and see the people and the pets I had lost would be so wonderful. And maybe I could do something to save some of them from an early death or avoid making terrible mistakes of their own. There is a scene where the traveler goes back and reunites with a dog that he lost when he was young, and it touched my heart...beautiful, and it brought tears to my eyes. Few authors have the skill to do this.

I will admit I was a little confused early on, with all the bouncing around to different possible futures, but it was intriguing enough to keep me going.

However, at one point in the story, it stopped being a science fiction/time travel story, and turned into a thriller. The shift is so sudden that I think many readers/listeners will feel betrayed...this is not the story we were promised. Reviews will probably be hurt by this...the promise to the reader is broken.

However, I also like thrillers, and once I accepted the shift, the story became intriguing in an entirely different way. The shift was actually masterfully done, and maybe if you accept that this change is coming before really experiencing it, it won't be so shattering. But I don't know how the author can prepare the reader without giving away the big surprise. I think this will hurt the sales and the reviews, which is too bad, because the story itself is extremely well conceived.

I loved the narration. A perfect accompaniment to the story, and really brings the characters to life.

Not a Typical Time Travel Story

This was not at all what I expected. The first hour was confusing and I wasn’t sure where it was headed. But I was intrigued enough to continue. At some point, everything became clear and it was quite ingenious. The plot twists were quite unusual and added to the suspense. The ending was realistic, although I would’ve liked an epilogue about the fate of some of the characters.

The author demonstrates a clear understanding of people who regret their life choices and wish they could go back and change things. I think most readers will appreciate the struggles of the main character.

The narrator was excellent, seamlessly changing with the point of view character.

Unlike any Time Travel Story

Im a huge fan of Time Travel...but, i'll admit...TIME WARP is unlike anything ive ever read/heard.
The story starts, shifts, and twists to an ending very unexpected...but, oddly satisfying.

My mind is still absorbing the multi colors the author has painted with this abstract-like time travel story. I cant say much more without giving away spoilers. But this doesnt ever go to places i can guess ahead to.
Which is great.
Very imaginative...realistic dialog (which holds almost every story together for me) and a good pace.

The narration by JOSHUA SAXON is superb..and really helps keep you buckled in the cockpit of this wild flight.

i enjoyed this alot.

What a great story!

Story = Loved.
I've heard of Brian Pinkerton but have never read/listened to any of his stories. I'm glad I decided to listen to this one. I’ve only listened to a few time travel-related stories. When the narrator told me it was “quite out there,” that’s the best way to describe this story. It was a crazy, sad, and eye-opening. There were so many twists and turns, always leaving me thinking I knew what was going on only to discover it wasn’t exactly what I thought.

Narrator = Loved. I think I finally figured out that Joshua Saxon is American… maybe. Not that it matters. He does such a great job with whatever voice/accent he chooses.

I only had one random question: when the two boys break into the warehouse, Danny “pulled on pants over his boxers, then quickly laced on a pair of gym shorts.” Why the shorts?

On a side note, it makes me sad to see the lower ratings on Audible for this story. I'm someone that will give any genre/book a listen to/read. A lot of the time, I'll pick a story based on its cover and have no clue what the story is about. The fact people gave 1 or 2-star ratings because the story didn't meet up with their expectations... I'm left wondering if they thought the story was good but gave it the lower rating because of the twists in what the story is about. Of course, if you read this review before reading the story, you'll have no clue what I'm talking about.

In the end, I’m interested in hearing more from the author and am going to see if I can get my husband to listen to this story.
