About this listen

Romance and adventure...and a trip to where an American tradition began....

Libby Edwards, a gifted horsewoman, unwittingly wishes herself back in time to Louisville, Kentucky just before Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby become a reality. During Libby's journey in the past, she stumbles upon her destiny. Unfortunately, he's in the wrong century. In 1874, there's no electricity, no Internet, no modern medicine, no antibiotics - no Starbucks! And even worse than that, women have no rights. Libby has no desire to stay.

Widower, Colin Thorpe, a renaissance man of his time, has big dreams. He is a horse breeder who names his thoroughbreds after mythological gods because he has a reverence for past cultures and an appreciation for the unexplainable.

Libby and Colin can't resist falling in love with each other. After all, Colin accepts Libby for who she is and she understands Colin's dreams better than his deceased wife ever did. Yet he grasps early on that Libby doesn't belong in 1874. And because his wife never adapted to the move from Virginia to Kentucky, becoming bitter and unhappy in the process, he won't take the chance of the same thing happening to Libby. Can these two lovers find a way to be together despite their challenges?

Goods story !

I received this book as promotoonal item. Even though I did not pay for it, after listening, I would have bought it. I have received a couple of promotional audio books and do not end up finishing them. But I finished this one. Because I did not exactly know how it was going to end. I'm a dude and I like Adventure. But this time I thought I'd try Romance. I chose this one because it included things I like time travel and mistaken identity. The author has a couple of cliché moments of dialogue. But hey, there's no perfect book out there. That's why I gave it 4 stars. But I still loved it.

A lovely time travel romance.

Would you listen to Time Will Tell again? Why?

Yes, I would listen to this book again. I love time travel romances and I enjoyed this one a lot.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Time Will Tell?

I liked the method of time travel used in this novel. It felt very real to me that, through the generations, this family would have passed on the dictate of leaving the two trees alone.
I'm Irish and in Ireland trees have historically been held to be sacred. Even to this day it is not uncommon to see a single, lone tree growing in the middle of a ploughed field as farmers and landowners acknowledge our heritage and refuse to cut down 'fairy' trees.

I liked the relationships that Libby cultivated in 1874. She adapted quite quickly to her surroundings and it was clear to the reader that the past held more opportunities for her happiness than staying in the present. I thought it was a great idea that Libby found a way to travel forward and back on occasions. She had time to decide when/where she wanted to be and was able to say her goodbyes to the people being left behind.

What does Carol Dines bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I liked Carol Dines accent and tone of voice. She performed both and female voices very well and I could really imagine old time America through the accents of the characters and the descriptive passages of the book. She did a great job narrating this book and I would definitely consider buying more books narrated by her.

Really Great Time Travel Romance Book

The story line is great and the characters are engaging.

Good time travel books are hard to find but this is one of the ones that got it right. It is a great book and pretty easy to follow.

Libby's fiancé seems like a self absorbed jerk. She goes back in time over 100 years to see the beginning of a horse farm the she loves. She is great with horses and loves a simple quiet life. She meets a handsome widower during her time travel and tries really hard to stay away from him but things don't go as planned.

I'm not the emotional type but the last chapter brought tears to my eyes. Really great romance book.

I have to say, I am not a giant fan of time travel stories, but this one captivated me. The intense storyline kept me coming back for more and had me thinking about it while I was unable to listen. I would definitely recommend this book to all romance readers.

Kentucky Time Travel Romance

This time-travel romance is full of Kentucky history especially horse breeding and racing in that area. The main character, Libby, has to make difficult decisions in just about every area of her life. You get to feel her struggles to adapt to her job, love life, friendships in present day and the past. It's a lovely story that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys a sweet love story with interesting history.

This one caught me by surprise because I wasn't expecting to like it so much. I'm very glad I give this book a try ;-)

A very fun time travel twist!

Would you listen to Time Will Tell again? Why?

I have already started listening to it in in my car a second time. It is a great story.

What did you like best about this story?

I like the fact that Libby can travel back and forth in time. Most time travel stories are a round trip visit at most. The way she traveled back in time was a nice twist. I enjoy the knowledge of horses that Sandy has incorporated into the story line.

What about Carol Dines’s performance did you like?

I love the French accent, the little boys and Libby's best friend tones of voice....very pleasant voice.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The ending made me cry in a good way.

Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book to any historical romance lover. Of course, the time travel aspect is great too.

Wonderful!

A wonderful love story that transcend time. It was a little slow in the beginning, but it had me captivated from the very first sentence. It is a well developed, well written and well read time travel romance.
