About this listen

Nurse and avid backpacker Aimee Donovan is offered the opportunity of a lifetime. She encounters a patient who tells her he can send her two hundred years into the past to spend three months in the rugged Yellowstone wilderness at the dawn of the mountain man era. The only requirement: she cannot tell anyone that she's from the future.

How did a white woman suddenly appear in the remote Rocky Mountain wilderness? Trapper Daniel Osborne's first instinct is to protect this mysterious and unconventional woman from the harsh realities of his mountains. While he fights his growing attraction to her, he is left frustrated by her lies and secrecy. Daniel shows Aimee a side of Yellowstone she's never experienced.

She is torn between her feelings for him, and exposing a secret that will destroy everything he holds as truth. As her three months come to an end, she is faced with a dilemma: return to her own time, or stay with the man who opened her eyes to a whole new world. When the decision is made for her, both their lives will be changed forever.

Amazing story

This is the only author I've re-read books from, and listening to this audiobook has been my fourth time for this book! I love the story so much I read if three times, and it was just as great this fourth time. The story is exciting and the characters extremely likable. You won't be sorry if you try this book. If you are debating getting Redemption (book two), get it. It is even better than Heart Song.

If you didn't like the narrator's voice, be aware the next few in the series have a different, better (male) voice.

The Romantic beginning of a FANTASTIC SERIES!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Yellowstone Heart Song to be better than the print version?

I loved both versions. I REALLY enjoyed the experience of listening to the book, after reading the print version, because the narrator brings the characters to "LIFE"! It made me really realize that just reading it for myself doesn't give the same depth to the characters, and storyline. I really enjoy being able to hear the different "Voices" of the characters. For me, I don't get that so clearly when I do the reading. I am finding that I enjoy being read to. It is a completely different experience, and it is GOOD.

What did you like best about this story?

TIME TRAVEL!!! It was so exciting, as I have always dreamed of "going back in time" to a time in history that I find intriguing!! Also the setting in Yellowstone. That has been one of my favorite places, since I was a young child vacationing there with family. I also really enjoyed the unfolding Romance between Aimee, and Daniel.

Have you listened to any of Alexandra Haag’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This was my first experience with Alexandra Haag. It was a positive experience, and I am ready to hear more from her. She is a very animated narrator, and does well with each character.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Leave your "life" behind, and find Love & Adventure in THE YELLOWSTONE OF THE PAST.

Any additional comments?

I was fascinated by this book when it first came out in print, and eagerly have looked forward to each new book in the series. I was "HOOKED" in the first chapter, and I don't think I can ever get enough of the Osbornes in Yellowstone. Listening to it in audible format just gives me even MORE ENJOYMENT!!! Thank You Peggy L. Henderson!!! PLEASE KEEP THESE GREAT BOOKS COMING!! I really like "knowing" more about the lives of these characters. AND I LOVE TIME TRAVEL STORIES!!!

Great Book!

Any additional comments?
Yellowstone Heart Song was my first Time Travel Romance book, and I fell in love from the very beginning! I love the adventure Peggy L Henderson brings to her stories, especially with the native Americans in the story. I felt like I was there. Daniel and Aimee are 2 characters that I absolutely love!

Loved it!

A great listen with well developed plot and characters and a great balance between action and romance. I felt closely connected to both key characters which added to the enjoyment. The narration was not the best I've listened to but Alexandra Haag did a credible job that didn't interfere with the overall listening experience.

I fell in love with this book all over again!

Would you consider the audio edition of Yellowstone Heart Song to be better than the print version?

I loved the print version and listening to the audio edition, just added to my pleasure of enjoying this book all over again.

Who was your favorite character and why?

It would have to be Daniel, my idea of a rugged mountain man, all rough and tough on the outside, but who has a loving and sensitive soul, that he keeps hidden very well. But I loved Aimee too, a high spirited modern woman, used to taking care of herself and she fights having to depend on Daniel.

What does Alexandra Haag bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Alexandra did a remarkable job of speaking the different voices and even the Frenchmen were believable. Since I cannot pronoun the names of the native tribes and do not know their languages, it was very pleasant to hear them pronounced the way they should be and this added to my listening pleasure.

Any additional comments?

I was drawn into this story from the very beginning when Aimee found herself lying on the green buffalo grass in Yellowstone, surrounded by nothing but wilderness and realized she had traveled two hundred years into the past to 1810. This begins the beautiful story of two people finding each other even though they lived two centuries apart. But could they stay together and would Aimee want to stay here in the wilderness with Daniel? I loved all the sexual tension between the two of them and I laughed, worried and cried along with them, well, actually sobbed at certain parts.

All the secondary characters were well thought out and quite a few were very likable, like Elk Runner, one of my favorites and as the story continued, I was able to recognize their different voices, as Alexandra read the audio.

This is a wonderful beginning to all of Peggy's audio books and I am looking forward to listening and enjoying the rest, just as I am enjoying reading her books. Highly Recommend. JudyE

interesting story

i liked the story about a modern woman willing going back in time for an adventure and falling in love. but i didn't like the narration. the narrator didn't bring any inflection or emotion to the story. sounded to like she was on Prozac. example: the heroine gets charged by a bear and falls over a ravine. the narrator reads the material like she's ordering off a menu. there was no excitement or change in pitch, tone, energy level, NOTHING. but the story was interesting
