About this listen

A COVID-19 time travel romantic suspense novella. Hackle County, Book I.

Hackle County health inspector April Islip believes handsome tavern owner Clay Nolan might be Mr. Right - until he refuses to make his customers wear masks. Local residents are riled up about COVID-19, threatening April, when all she’s trying to do is save lives. When one of Clay’s irate customers runs April’s car off the road on the Fourth of July, she’s mysteriously transported back in time to 1970 and given the chance to right a past wrong. Can she thwart a dangerous plot involving Clay’s grandfather that doomed Hackle County’s future and her relationship with Clay?

This time-traveling romance story is a fun, light read that touches on the COVID epidemic, small town narrow-mindedness and a the dichotomy between what was and what we choose to believe about our heroes and our ancestors.
As the first of a series it offers some interesting possibilities for future reads.
A fun adventure for a summer trip to the cottage.

I did find this to be a fun time travel romance with some fun suspense, but the pushy covid health inspector side was a bit irritating. I'm not an anti-vaccer or against masking, I just believe in freedom to choose for yourself. The storyline was fun but I guess the political side was a turn off because I am just tired of the constant fights from both sides. Beyond that the narrator was fine but a bit slow for me, try 1.25 speed. The language was mild, it was a clean and a fast read.

Time Will Tell (Hackle County #1) was a good read by Pamela Ferguson. April Islip is the Hackle County health inspector. She believes that the handsome tavern owner, Clay Nolan, could be Mr. Right. Unfortunately he refuses to make his customers wear masks. The local residents are threatening April, even though she is trying to save lives to COVID-19. One of Clay’s irate customers runs her off the road, and she is mysteriously transported back in time to 1970. She is given the opportunity to right a past wrong. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

This is a short (2 hour) delightful tale of a county health inspector caught in a short time travel junket during the pandemic. Must be read in order and with part 2, Time Faults: Hackle County, Book 2.
