About this listen

A lie is a welcome mat for the devil....

Kate had high hopes when she moved to her husband‘s hometown, but her domestic bliss was short-lived. Blindsided by her spouse’s public affair with his high school sweetheart, Kate’s determined to hold onto custody of her kids and pull herself together. When Kate’s struck in the head by a drone at her son’s soccer game and face-plants in the grass, it’s more than her self-esteem that’s shattered. The drone’s footage reveals that someone is stalking her. And though the handsome detective she’s falling for vows to protect her, Kate knows to be wary of any man making vows.

With things spiraling out of control, she tells a lie. It was only One Little Lie, but her grandmother always said, a lie is a welcome mat for the devil, and with the one she told, Kate just rolled out the red carpet. Everything she worked for begins to unravel, along with her sanity. Confused, alone, and afraid, can Kate untangle the web of lies and unmask her stalker, or will she lose everything - including her life?

‘Ok’ listen

‘One Little Lie’ was just ‘ok’. The biggest turnoff for me was the main character Kate who came across as someone full of self pity, weak and a feather head. I literally had to force myself to continue listening. The ending was good-ish but annoyed me by confirming that there is probably a follow on. Wonder if she will revert to the same ‘woe is me’ character in the second book.

Decent story but terrible to listen to

The narrator’s voice was horribly annoying. Almost gave up on it several times for that reason. Probably a better read than listen.

Narrator is awesome

Pretty good book. It is a bit of predictable but the narrator makes it awesome.

Ask me no questions and I'll tell you no lies.

However, if you asked me if I loved this book, it would be no lie, when I tell you I really did. Like any good mystery, it is true, people are often not what they seem...but sometimes they are!

We Didn't Know?

The overall plot was predictable. Maybe only a little was a surprise. Yet, I still enjoyed the recording.

Excellent who done it!

I read this book several years ago and enjoyed it so much that I listened to it. I have enjoyed many of this authors books. Amy McFadden is one of my favorite narrators. ignore all the whiny complaining people.

It’s just one little lie!

OMG. Not what I expected especially just after finishing The Girl That Lived.
Well worth the credit. I’ve listened to it twice because I knew I missed important details.
I can see the events happening—glad it didn’t happen to me!
The last couple of minutes makes me wonder if there is a sequel? What do you think?
