About this listen

In a plot ripped from today's headlines, America’s elite task force must take down a group of ruthless domestic terrorists determined to paralyze the country through extreme acts of violence in this action-packed new thriller in the best-selling Tom Clancy's Op-Center series.

They are known as the Black Order. Self-proclaimed patriots and survivalists, they refuse to surrender their values and beliefs to the left-leaning cultural and progressive forces threatening their nation. Military veterans and high-tech specialists, they’ve begun a savage war which includes public assassinations of politicians and celebrities and high-profile bombings, striking without warning or mercy. The Black Order wants nothing less than complete capitulation by the US government, giving them free rein to make their ideologies the law of the land.

Only Op-Center’s Black Wasp, a skilled team of military operatives answerable to the president, can defeat these militant revolutionaries. But even as Admiral Chase Williams and his agents force them on the run, the Black Order possesses a weapon of mass destruction that they will not hesitate to unleash against millions of innocent civilians.

The story line is a good one. the performance was excellent. However some times the plot was a bit disappointing. This was worth the listen but not up to the Clancy level I normally expect.

decent ... not great

Dark and frightening & I hope nothing like this happens but it is a possibility.

Clancy either knows more or is able to fake knowledge of the government and particularly of the military. The detail of which he imparts with this book is amazing as he stretches your brain to remember all the characters and their positions in an always mysterious and entertaining manner.
A great read.

I never got engaged with the characters, with the Admiral being the most likable. Compared to the stories from Tom Clancy revolving around the "Campus" operations, it wasn't even close, IMHO. The story , plot and mechanics of the plot unwinding were okay, but the characters didn't engage me enough to read another "Black-Ops" story.

War against "liberals"

This was my first OP CENTER story and I found it compelling and intriguing. Being a Philadelphia native I enjoyed the accurate reference to places I knew. I would hope the other stories in the series are as well done both story wise and narration wise.

Good Story

It was a good listen, not perfect. It hit a little too close to home because of the events of January 6.

Jeff Gurner being my second audible reader that I had listened to in Daemon and freedom tm was great!
