Entertaining

This is just the sort of romance I'm interested in: light hearted with plenty of humor, strong characters, a bit of mystery and suspense, some heated moments, and a happy ending. I'd give it 5 stars but the main premise of the book is on the verge of unbelievable and, while part of the humor, begins to wear a bit thin towards the end Christina Traister did an acceptable job of narrating the story, never making me want to turn it off or wish I'd read it instead. Her performance lacks the polish of other narrators and many of the voices sounded the same. Worse they tended to slip into and out of accents so very few of them other than Meadow were consistent. A quick search of Audible shows this is the first book she did (at least at Audible). Her effort was good enough that I'd be willing to listen to some of her later work to see if she's improved. All in all 8 enjoyable hours spent listening

Great read!

Enough suspense to keep me wanting more! It was no masterpiece, but excellent light reading, good story, with a bit of romance.

Interesting Twist

This was an interesting twist to a romance. I enjoyed it. You knew the romantic leads would eventually going to get together, as with other romance novels, but you didn't know how when reading. So that made it interesting.

Ridiculous plot and inconsistent narration

This is one of the few books that I really just couldn’t finish. The storyline is so implausible and ridiculous that my eyeballs hurt from constantly rolling them (not literally😊). The narrator was so inconsistent with the Southern accent of the male character that I didn’t know who was speaking half the time. What a waste!

Laugh out Loud Funny

The scenes with Meadow and Devlin's mom are really funny. I liked the plot and the romance was believable. I'm not usually a fan of the books that have the hero and heroine continuing to lie to each other, but in this case it was an important part of the plot. Plus it's the lesson of the old adage "What a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive" . The narrator was not to my taste but she didn't spoil the book for me.

Good Story, Wrong Narrator

Good story. I would have given it 5 all the way however Christina Traister was just wrong narrator for this book. I have listened to her more many times and know she is so much better.

The book was suspenseful, enjoyed it throughout.
