About this listen

“One of the best thriller writers on the planet.” (The Real Book Spy)

In the next thriller in the number one New York Times best-selling Mitch Rapp series, it’s a race against the clock when ISIS takes out the entire US power grid and throws the country into chaos.

When Mitch Rapp captures ISIS’s top technology expert, he reveals that he was on his way to meet a man who claims to have the ability to bring down America’s power grid. Rapp is determined to eliminate this shadowy figure, but the CIA’s trap fails.

The Agency is still trying to determine what went wrong when ISIS operatives help this cyber terrorist do what he said he could — plunge the country into darkness. With no concept of how this unprecedented act was accomplished, the task of getting the power back on could take months. Perhaps even years.

Rapp and his team embark on a desperate search for the only people who know how to repair the damage — the ones responsible. But his operating environment is like nothing he’s experienced before. Computers and communication networks are down, fuel can no longer be pumped from gas stations, water and sanitation systems are on the brink of collapse, and the supply of food is running out.

Can Rapp get the lights back on before America descends irretrievably into chaos?

This compulsive thriller proves once again that the Mitch Rapp series is “the best of the best when it comes to the world of special ops” (Booklist, starred review).

Total Power-Mitch Rapp Series

As always, The Rapp series always delivers a good story. I find myself wishing it would not end. It’s so hard to find a good read, or in this case listen. I got a little depressed knowing that it would be over and I would be forced to wait a year or more for the next in series, and the search for the other 6-7 authors that I read every book they right. Being able to listen to books while driving has made it impossible to not have to wait of a month or more while the next in whichever authors series was released. A problem that I won’t complain about too much. If like this series by all means look for the Jericho Quinn series, the Silva’s Gabriel Allon, Authors: Brad Thor, Mark Greenery, Ben Coes. If any read this that have not read one of the aforementioned Authors and series you will not be disappoint I guarantee. Have a blessed day, week, month, and year.

Mitch is back!

Great book and continuation of the series. The back and forth between characters is great.
I wish it was longer!

Scary Fiction

Pogo said, We have met the enemy and he is us! This is truly the most frightening scenario because it sounds so plausible.

Significant improvement from previous Mills’ books

Finally solid characters, solid plot, excellent tone, good pacing. Almost back to real Rapp. I have been disappointed by the preceding books by Kyle Mills. They haven’t been dreadful by any means but there’s been notable deviations from classic Rapp (gratuitous violence, throw away lines, everyone being called a prick or a bitch, junk food, snarky attitude, oddly staccato writing, overuse of the phrase “Probably not.” ... etc.). Plus the plot lines just seemed even more far fetched than usual. This book seems to get closer to Vince’s idea of his main character & style. True, there’s still some gratuitous violence but at least less so. The plot is more coherent & flows well. Good tone & great atmospheric descriptions. Also, great use of Scott Coleman & finally Marcus returns. I think Mills has done a great job continuing the series but Enemy of the State was really hard to read & Lethal Agent was a little tough. I’ve read the series through 4+ times (actually skipping Enemy of the State after two reads). I feel like Total Power meshes well with the originals. Sorry such a long review! Looking forward to a second read!

Another great Rapp book.

Memorial day and Consent to kill are still my top 2 Rapp books, but this one is easily makes it into the top 3. Such a realistic and scary story... Definitely one not to miss. Thanks in advance to ARC copy I was given and also purchased hard cover... Can't wait for more.

One of the best in a while

I enjoy all of the Mitch Rapp books (along with Gray man, Victor, James Reece etc). This one stood out for me though. The scenario, the problems that led to, and the fast pace really made this book very enjoyable for me. Looking forward to the next Rapp book already.

Scary

This is one of the best books I have ever listened to. Full of surprises and suspense and topped off with the amazing performance of George Guidall. Kyle Mills is an amazing author.

Dramatic with a touch of light humor

I have read all the Mitch Rapp books. I think Kyle Mills does a suburb job of keeping with the character of Mitch Rapp. I also love the well placed sometimes very subtle humor amidst the dark tales. Some I am sure goes over some heads but I find my self literally laughing out loud as I know people like Mitch’s friends who talk and act just like Coleman. Can’t wait for the next one.

And of George Guidall is the best!!!! Love his voice and perfect inflection of all the characters
