Publisher's summary

The old saying about how a leopard never changes its spots was true in Robin Delli Richardson’s case when it came to loving her son’s philandering father. It didn’t matter how good Robin looked, or that she was an educated woman with a great job with benefits, designer labels in her closet, Louboutin red bottoms on her feet, or how well endowed she was in the bedroom, Saxon Anderson had it made it clear that he was incapable of being monogamous.

The fighting with ratchet side chicks, private calls from random women, and constant disrespect Saxon poured into their relationship had Robin feeling some kind of way. How much longer would she allow him to mistreat her? Why couldn’t she simply walk away from Saxon?

Soon Robin meets the talented and sexy Keontae Adams. Keontae is everything Robin wants Saxon to be in her relationship. He is respectful, considerate, dedicated, and finds Robin to be breathtakingly irresistible.

After getting a taste of something different, Robin’s feelings start to change towards Saxon. Seeing him for the selfish, arrogant, narcissistic serial cheater that he is has Robin ready to remove herself from the emotional roller coaster she is riding on.

Even after admitting that she is enabling Saxon to continue doing her wrong, and even knowing that she has options, her heart still belongs to Saxon. Could Keontae be enough for her to leave the toxic love she has grown accustomed to?

This is the toxic relationship your friends call you about

This is the type of toxic relationship being discussed in group, chats, and girls nights. If ya’ll don’t leave these men alone! I wanted to climb in my headphones and slap her! Looking forward to the sequel!

Unacceptable narration, storyline Ughhh!!

Let me first address the narration. I am not sure of the process for audio reviews, but with this one it went wrong. It was as if there was a rush to get it in audio land. This is huge, and it is a negative impact on the listening pleasure. The narrator initially started out so dry and monotone. At times, it sounded like she was in a silo. There were lines that were repeated, because she messed up and even heard her laugh about her mistake. Why wasn’t all of this edited, before release? It is definitely a poor reflection on the author and the audio publisher. The narrator, Tamika, she has potential. She did get better as the reading went along or maybe I just got used to it? Now the story line, it isn’t anything that some of us ladies are all too familiar. Robin had it bad for Saxson, and it was unhealthy. Some women are like that, not seeing their worth - including the side chick in this instance (i.e., Mina). History, a baby, and a fake proposal don’t mean anything. You wonder when a woman will get it!! Out there just settling, and for no good reason. She could do bad all by herself. Robin apparently wasn’t bad on the eyes, because she had not one but two men that expressed interest - good and fine men!! I was just so frustrated with her and her decisions with staying by Saxson at any cost. Just SAD!! Maybe one day in the near future she would move on or Saxson accept his addiction, work on it, and be a better person for himself, his children, and Robin.

A Stuggle

Couldn't even follow the storyline of this book because of the narrator. Very monotone but she messes up quite often, re-reading several lines. You're really just waiting for the next mess up and it is distracting from the storyline.
