Thoroughly enjoyable

Tracker continues the Bren Cameron story and picks up were the last one left off. The Foreigner series has become a favorite of mine and the combination of Cherryh's writing style and Daniel May's reading make it a real delight. I've no idea how may Cherryh will write in this series (this is book 16) but I suspect there is still much to cover.

If you are reading this review and are wondering if this series is worth it, I don't think you will be disappointed. The story line is not complicated and generally from a single point of view, not parallel stories and multiple sub plots. It continues with the characters that have been previously introduced as the saga continues, but we see them as they mature, become more experienced, and develop close relationships in this foreign world.

If you are considering this series, the first book is confusing at best and not Cherryh's strongest work, but it does set the stage for the subsequent books. It is a fun series and most highly recommended.

Always a good story!

As usual, CJ Cherry and Daniel Thomas May deliver a good story. Mr. May's performances of the many and varied character voices is consistently good. Thanks and kudos to both the author and the narrator.

The 20 year story that never, ever grows old

Would you consider the audio edition of Tracker to be better than the print version?

I have not yet read the story but Daniel May is excellent at the job.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tracker?

For the last 3 years I have wondered if this turn would take place, the other aliens come to call, now they have and the danger and the hope and the change begins.

Have you listened to any of Daniel Thomas May’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Great job, just what I expected, 10 out of 10.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This is a slightly wrong question, Ms Cherryh's books are exciting and expand one's universe - thus this book created excitement and expanded my universe.

Any additional comments?

The next book will be long awaited! Even if it comes out tomorrow!

Great as always!

I love this series and everything else by Ms Cherryh. The only issue I had was that some of the names were pronounced differently and it was hats to get past. Other than that, very good!

This Series Just Gets Better With Every Book!

If you are acquainted with the series, you will know that Bren Cameron, the interpreter between several species and between factions of the Atevi population has recently helped with routing out some major traitors within the home world government while trying to successfully host visiting children from a long lost space post with the young Aiji.

This book now moves to activities "in the heavens" as expected visitors suddenly arrive, posing an inconvenient visit amid an almost civil war between the earth bound humans and the rescued Reunion humans. Cherryh does an excellent job of moving the characters not only through the story arc, but through growth as personalities as well. I was hugely impressed at how masterfully she has done this with so many powerful personalities in the story.

Daniel Thomas May "IS" Bren Cameron. He brings power to the character's voices and a stead pace to a very active storyline. He makes it real :-)

A the saga continues!

I was so delighted to see another installment of this amazing and complex series. I found myself listening to it in nearly a single sitting.

The interplay of characters, the complex politics and customs, all make for an extremely engaging tale. Ms. Cherryh is a master at development of character and true - feeling interplay. Her "villains" aren't monsters, but people with a bit of power and not quite enough empathy or foresight. Her "heroes" are people who do what needs to be done under difficult circumstances. I can't wait to see how Irene - Nandi's character role is expanded, as well as Cajeri's, in future books!

Narrator Daniel Thomas May holds it all together with his consistent voice portrayals through all the books. I recognize each character's voice as they come into the story.

Quintessential Cherryh, politics, drama and manchi

I love the layers, the tension and the loyalies. Every player has such a necessary part and the next thing I know, I am begging for the next installment!
