Solid and Unsurprising

The Next Chapter in the series. Well worth the read; not the best of them but plenty good enough.

Always a treat!

I always enjoy the adventures of Cato and Macro. There’s not one book in the series that has disappointed me in slightest. On top of it always being a good story, with each book, I feel I grow closer to the pair. The perfect balance that Scarrow has created by developing two characters who very different from one another really takes a hold of you and keeps you wanting more. I hope we get another 20+ books on these two!

Oh and Keeble is a perfect fit for this type of material. Between these and Bernard Cornwell’s books he’s performed, I hear his voice more than some of my family members and do not regret it.

Fantastic

There hasn’t been a bad book in the series. My hope is that Mr. Scarrow stretches it through the Year of the Four Emperors. Either way I highly recommend!

Extremely well written but "meh" story.

I think Scarrow's writing is top notch. It stands out way above most of the books in my library. But the story is just okay, nothing special. I would gladly buy more of his books if I knew which ones had good stories.
