I totally loved this audible of Iceland. The details in the book are so complete. The history of Iceland was very interesting. I liked all the suggestions of places to visit and things to do on my trip. The narration of the book is delightful with all of Icelandic names enunciated to give the flavor of Iceland. Loved the accent!

This book was so easy to listen to and filled with interesting information. If you are traveling to Iceland or just want to know more about it, this book is for you! I will be traveling to Iceland soon and I now feel so much more prepared!

Great Book

This book started out pretty good, but then got repetitive and sometimes a bit juvenile. It does cover all of Iceland, which is good. It tries to cover all methods of travel, from luxury to camping, and that is probably a mistake. It really hurts that there is no accompanying PDF or map. It is probably better as a hard copy or ebook. Toward the end especially, the same information is repeated in some instances.

Some of the final information on preparing and packing seems written for someone who has never taken a trip ("bring your passport," "if you want to rent a car, bring you driver's license," check pricing before booking an airline ticket or a guide, etc.).

It's also not entirely helpful that every restaurant is described as excellent, even if serving things that many would not want to eat. It would be more helpful to include a section on food for the, shall we say, "non-adventurous."

The narration is fair. He seems to get the difficult Icelandic pronunciations correct. Nevertheless, he reads what seem to be subheadings verbatim, which leads to repeating the same words often.

Decent But Mediocre Audiobook
