Great story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

The stories in this series, starting with this first book, are beautifully told and narrated. The descriptions are vivid and the characters well-developed. So glad there are 20 of these!

Great for the wine lover

Would you consider the audio edition of Treachery in Bordeaux (Mission à Haut-Brion) to be better than the print version?

N/A

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, the writing and narration was compelling. It dragged a bit in places but the characters were fascinating and the detail helped bring the book to life. I could picture myself in the places spoken about.

What does Simon Prebble bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

A laid back style of reading that is enjoyable to listen to on cool Autumn days.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

France. Mystery. Wine.

Any additional comments?

Great book, I look forward to reading / listening to the rest of the series.

NOT WHAT I THOUGHT

Absolutely not what I thought this book would be like. To me it was as if I was taking a lesson on how to pronounce French names, cities or villages. Also similar to a course on different wines. I thought the mystery was lost in the muddle or I just didn't care anymore. If you are not a total wine aficionado then skip this book. I will not be returning to this series. The narrator is excellent and I have heard him many times. Without this narrator I would not have gotten past chapter one.
