Dark high school bully romance!

This is a bully dark romance story, Carter and Raine's story is not an easy one, it's standalone, however, you will find some characters from the previous series. Raine wants to be under the radar, Carter is the King of the school, he doesn't like her, she needs to survive. If you love high-school dark bully romance I strongly recommend you this book, better yet get the audiobook because the narrators Gregory Salinas and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker did a fantastic job, and who doesn't love the sexy voice of Gregory Salinas really?

Solid 4.0 story w/ good narration.

Though categorized as a stand-alone, this is a well written spin off installment in the author’s ongoing saga about characters in the Alstone High and Alstone College universe.

Definitely read Steele’s “The Four” series to get the most out of it.

great introduction to bully romance

This is a great introduction to bully romance for anyone who is new to the trope. This book has a lot of fun tropes and spice including primal play and men in masks, but there was an easiness about it that didn't feel too heavy or too spicy compared to other romances in this trope. I loved the suspense and plot twist at the end of this story. It also had great side characters and piqued my interest for other love interests.

Fantastic Story & Narration🎧 The Trick is On You!!

Wow, Becca Steele does it again and blows my mind with another awesome enemies to lovers, bully romance. The story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time, it is the type of book once you start you do not want to put down because you need to know what happens next. This is a standalone novel set in the same world as her brilliant series “The Four”, Cassius and Lena play secondary and support characters and there is a brief cameo of the others too. The two lead characters, Carter Blackthorne and Raine Laurent attend Alstone High School, Carter along with his friends Kian and Xavier are considered the kings of the school. Raine is more a geeky nerd and is not part of the popular crowd, her only extracurricular activity is the drama department where she designs and makes costumes for the school’s shows. Carter can not stand Raine, she lives next door and his own parent praise her for her good grades while he struggles. Raine makes friends with Lena who tries to encourage her to come out of her comfort zone and to come out of hiding. Raine is not confident like that but Lena is supportive and has her back. She even gets her to go to the school’s annual fright night, it was supposed to be a calm event but the Kings planned to stir things up for everyone and Raine got caught up in that after being chosen by Carter himself. Luckily everyone was masked and incognito. And just when she thought she got away scot free, turns out she goes from being practically unnoticed and unknown to the most talked about girl in the school. She is not sure why Carter would do this to her, to make matters worse she also fell on the mean girls radar. Luckily she had her friend Lena and another friend in the drama club, Dylan Rossiter. I loved how everything played out in this book, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns that you never see coming, mystery, thrilling and suspenseful moments, heartfelt emotions and some hot romance. Becca Steele, thank you for another awesome story and emotional rollercoaster ride!

🎧📚🎧 And for the amazing narration, Stephanie Nemeth-Parker and Gregory Salinas were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life. They gave each character their own distinct voice, accents and all, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. Their portrayal fo the characters was spot on, they had a complete understanding of the roles they played and sounded believable in each. Stephanie Nemeth-Parker captured Raine’s persona to a tee, she sounded youthful, smart, and allowed her confidence to shine by the end. Gregory Salinas plays Carter as cocky alpha-hole that he comes off as, but he shows his softer and vulnerable sides too. Both were awesome playing the secondary characters as well. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all of the characters emotions and project them into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic 🎧

Trick Me Twice

"You're mine now, little trickster."

Raine wants to complete her final year of high school and get out of Alstone for good. Carter, the king of Alstone High, is sick of his parents comparing him to Raine all of the time. At the annual Halloween Fight Night, Raine tricks Carter and all bets are off and everything gets turned upside down.

I enjoyed this book as much, if not more, the second time through. There were some things that I picked up on listening to it that I missed when I read it, which was a nice surprise. I love the Alstone world and can not wait for more to come from not only this world but also from Becca Steele. I recommend this book to all bully romance readers who love their books with some twists and turns.

Audio … I loved that this was a duet narration. Gregory Salinas was the perfect voice for Carter. This was my first time hearing Stephanie Nemeth-Parker and she did a great job as Raine.

Intriguing and Captivating!

Wow! I loved it! Bully Romance is one of my favorite tropes, and this one is a great High School Bully Romance. Carter and Raine's enemies to lovers story is intriguing, and captivating. Carter is handsome, enigmatic, and intriguing. Raine is lovely, naive, and strong. Their story is filled with drama, and twists and turns. The supporting characters are interesting. The pace is great, and enthralling. Some scenes are particularly well done, and originals. I loved Carter and Raine's story. I need more! Gregory Salinas and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker did a fantastic job with the narration. They both have a beautiful voice. I enjoyed it, and I HIGHLY recommend it. Becca Steele never disappoints. #AudiobookObsession

Trick Me Twice

Thoroughly enjoyed this story. Engaging from the very beginning. There is definitely a lot of growth on both main characters parts. The bullying isn't that intense so don't let that put you off of this story. It was nice to see some cross over characters, but if this is the first you're reading by this author, you won't feel as though you've missed anything. Excellent narration, I always love the duet style. It makes the reading seem much more natural. Definitely worth your credit!!!
