About this listen

THE ONLY WAY OUT IS UP

Former Blackhawk pilot Luke Angel wants nothing more than to enjoy the easy life he’s found in coastal Florida. He’s got a seaplane business, a well-trained dog, and a loyal and lovable crew to throw back margaritas with. But when a plane belonging to a friend goes missing from Luke’s airport, local detectives are understandably baffled. Clues are scattered from the Keys to the far side of the Gulf of Mexico, and Luke may be the only one with the connections to piece the puzzle back together.

The case rips open old family tensions for Luke and the woman he once loved. When his eleven-year-old niece gets dragged into the danger, Luke finds himself facing down elements of his past he thought long buried.

Dipping his floats into murky water has Luke tangling with deadly people who’d love nothing more than to clip his wings.

He’ll have to fly fast if he wants to protect the people he loves, or he’ll end up at the bottom of the bay.

Take off for an unforgettable ride. Get yours today.

Unfortunately, parts of the story made no sense. Especially the way people reacted to some fairly plot critical situations. Not a failure but a little disappointing

Interesting action and cool planes

It’s an entertaining listen with intrigue but not disturbing violence. I don’t need graphic violence in my brain.

Entertaining listen.

LOVED this series in Kindle format, but hearing Scott Brick’s interpretive mastery brought the experience to another level. I’ve listened to dozens of audio books with Scott’s narration. He’s widely accepted as one of the best voiceover artists in the business, and for good reason. When I discovered he was doing the Luke Angel series, I jumped onboard immediately. On a more perhaps nerdy note, as a pilot I appreciate the author’s accuracy when it comes to all things aeronautical. On a level I haven’t felt since devouring all of Richard Bach’s books, this series just gets it right. The technical aspects are spot on, but there is something more. The series is sprinkled with hints of things that aviation aficionados will recognize as “insider info,” tickling the fancy and piquing the interest of those kindred spirits of the air. Of course, you don’t have to be an aviation enthusiast to enjoy this series, it was just an added bonus for me. In fact, these mystery/thrillers are enjoyable on so many levels. There’s something for everyone with excellent storytelling, intrigue, romance, action, expectation, etc. And like all great writing, you feel like you’re there. The theatre of the mind is in full-projection, multi-sensory mode. Highly recommended.

Reads with adventure and suspense, mixed in with aviation is a sure hit with me.

I have been enjoying this author’s works, particularly the aviation themes. This book was imaginative and an enjoyable read. The only negative for me was the insistence on having the character. Tyler use poor grammar. It seemed like a gratuitous and intentional stereotype that was totally unnecessary. Otherwise, a very good book. As usual, Scott brick was brilliant with his narration. My favorite narrator of all.

A good read with an interesting storyline.

I’ve been waiting all my life for this author. As a pilot and A&P mechanic, this story had me hooked from the beginning scene. This series needs to continue for my well-being. I’ll be checking my emails everyday for an announcement of a third book in the series. Thank you Nate Van Coops for making my life better with these books.
