Publisher's summary

An Essence best-selling author, Travis Hunter is acclaimed for the way he honestly confronts the issues facing African-American men. Jermaine Banks is a pot dealer in Philadelphia, father to a three-year-old boy, and committed partner to his pregnant girlfriend. As he approaches his 30th birthday and suffers the loss of a close friend to gang violence, he realizes it's time for some changes. Being a good father, and possibly husband, means finding a legitimate job and getting his family away from the ghetto. Can he stop being a trouble man?

WONDERFUL INSPIRING STORY

I really enjoyed the story, characters and narrator. Family is important and being able to change for the better is so inspiring. Sometimes the characters seem so real. This is definitely one worth listening to.

Great Book

I love a good book that showcases the power of choices. It was great to see Jermaine turn the corner from what could have ruined his life to making good choices and stepping up to be a great roll model for his son. It is a great lesson that life can change based on 1 good or bad decision. I had absolutely no simpathy for his father and was happy to see him get what he deserved. I would definately listen to more of this authors book and recommend this book to others.

Trouble Man

This is a great book, it deals directly with the problems of inner city. We need more men of color involved, with this I'm sure we'll see an increase in education and Decrease in crime. Thanks, I'll treasure this one.

Black Author

I’m happy I came across one of Travis Hunter’s audiobooks. I have been completely pleased with his stories. To each his or her own but I appreciate the fact the books are solid and not overly ratchet. I actually purchased everything he had available on audible.

thumbs up from Philly

As a "Philly-girl" this story hits home. It was touching on how a "good brother" gets caught up in the drug game just to make it in life. Of course it's unrealistic to think that one can just walk away from the "game" unscathed. But it was still a good and inspired story.

Too predictable....boring! !!

I knew what was going to happen since the 5th chapter. Too predictable!! The narrator was the best thing about this book. I almost fell asleep several times.
