About this listen

From the nationally best-selling author of Married Men comes this hilarious story of four black men searching for true love.

Kevin's got the looks; Antoine's got the heart and soul; Tyrone's got the skills; and Maurice has all the player moves - but what they don't have are good women in their lives. What do they do? Call 1-900-BLACK-LUV, of course! The riotous experiences that follow have to be heard to be believed.

how the men came together as friends . seeing black men described as something other than drug addicts, thugs and all around bad people. granted, they had issues, but they relied on each other to better themselves and grow.

It would have been better with this book to read it instead of listening like it better when there’s more than one narrator. I love this narrator but for this book.

Need more than one

Carl Weber's story of four black men is robust and a exciting glance into the characters lives. The characters take on many of the real life situations people go through. The men are beautifully flawed but redemption and endurance are never far behind. Kevin Free is a great narrator. He gives the story texture and depth.

Excellent glimpse into the world of black men.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes, I would recommend this book because it's funny.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

I thought the conclusion was unsurprising, nonoriginal, and predictable.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Kevin Free had wonderful female voices, but his male voices were feeble, thus unmanly.

Was Lookin' For Luv worth the listening time?

At first, I thought the book was unrealistic, so I regretted picking the book up. However, I ended up changing my view on the book. It was funnily entertaining and now I would like to listen to more.
