Publisher's summary

I'm fine being the pack wallflower until my fated mate rejects me, sending me off to lick my wounds with my sister's pack. I build a comfortable life with the new pack, content to settle where I am as I ward off suitors whose interest isn't entirely noble.

Until my presence puts the pack in danger.

My only choice is to run, but I don't count on an overzealous shifter forcing me onto the pack land of Alpha Dominic himself. It's been three years since he rejected me, but my wolf seems to think it never happened at all.

Now, I'm desperate to run again, even if it means accepting life as a rogue. But Dominic has other ideas, and he's happy to keep me in his pack house against my will until I'm ready to comply.

When my family's forgotten legacy is recovered-bringing a rush of power I didn't know I had—I have to decide if it's easier working with the Alpha or against him.

After all, the fates don't take kindly to being ignored.

And Dominic and I? We're double-fated.

Narrators not so great

Storyline was good. I’m going into the second book because I’m curious to see what happens with the 3 siblings. I liked Tess, she was strong willed and a fighter, didn’t just allow herself to be a doormat. Up until the last 40% or so of the book I absolutely disliked Dominic and actually in the beginning was hoping she’d decide to take Cal as a mate 🤷🏾‍♀️. He does redeem himself and in the end I thought they were a good match. I have to say the narrators were all wrong for this book. Stephanie was ok, her male characters were not great. But Tristan was not right at all for this series, he sounds like he should be narrating for older characters, and the female voices were just bad. Sorry to say.

Good start

The book was a little slow in some parts but overall good. The narrator sometimes sounds monotone and it can be distracting. I’ve already purchased book 2.❤️

Not shabby

I did like the story but a lot of the stuff I usually think with shifter books wasn't there. I missed the Alpha dominant role, so it really turned into a regular romance with shifting abilities. The girl starts off as 18 but the story jumps to 21. I don't understand what the fascination is about young girls but of course the author tried to write her "mature" which mature and young girl doesn't even go in the same sentence. There is a book 2, I'm not sure if I will get it or not. It's not a bad story but just lacked elements that I enjoy.

The narrator sounded digital.

I was interested in the story but I really didn’t like the narration so I didn’t finish it.

HORRIFIC FEMALE CHARACTER NARRATOR!

I really want to hear the sequels, but I cant.the Female narration sounds like a computer. i kept thinking maybe she will unwind after a bit, that was wishful thinking. there was about three minutes in chapter 25 where she didn't sound like a computer reading to me. i will not read ANY story with her as the narrator in the future. the story was pretty good. the male narrator was good. enter at your own risk.youve been warned.youre better off reading it yourself.. have a lovely day.

horrible narrator

Tristan Janes' narration wasn't great but Stephanie Wyles' narration was truly horrible. She sounds robotic and her inflection was just odd. Although I thoroughly enjoyed the story, I could not listen to the audio book because of the narration.

Eh

She sounds like Siri and everything she says is with an upward inflection at the end like a question. He sounds like Winnie the Pooh.

Narrator is AWFUL

The male Narrator, Tristan James is completely wrong for this book. His voice sounds like he is an old man in his 70's. The sex scenes were particularly disturbing bc he sounds like a pedifile. I think the series would be good, not great, but the voice was to much. Stephanie was better. However, both were mechanically reading and not preforming. I am sure Mr James would do well in another genre but most definitely not a young romance. I cannot in good concious recommend this at all! I cannot give the storyline the okay bc it misleads the rating of this audio.

just started and i don't know...

I don't know if i can keep listening. the female narrator has less humanity than Alexa. she also sound like she's middle aged at least. Middle Aged Robot. maybe the Jetson's maid Rosie has gotten a new gig narrating books. I think i have to read instead of listen to this one. after I've given some time so i Do not hear this woman when i read.
