About this listen

President-elect Donald J. Trump lays out his professional and personal worldview in this classic work—a firsthand account of the rise of America's foremost deal-maker.

"I like thinking big. I always have. To me it's very simple: If you're going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big." —Donald J. Trump

Here is Trump in action—how he runs his organization and how he runs his life—as he meets the people he needs to meet, chats with family and friends, clashes with enemies, and challenges conventional thinking. But even a maverick plays by rules, and Trump has formulated time-tested guidelines for success. He isolates the common elements in his greatest accomplishments; he shatters myths; he names names, spells out the zeros, and fully reveals the deal-maker's art. And throughout, Trump talks—really talks—about how he does it. Trump: The Art of the Deal is an unguarded look at the mind of a brilliant entrepreneur—the ultimate read for anyone interested in the man behind the spotlight.

Great Insight into our Deal Maker in Chief

Where does Trump: The Art of the Deal rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This isn't among my regular reading choices, but upon Mr. Trump's election (and after reading Coulter's "In Trump We Trust"), commentators I read recommended this book for a look into President Trump's mind.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked this book in the same way I liked the Reagan Diaries - its an assembly of working day vignettes on activities and perspectives, and Trump's approach to business and people. It really provided insight into his deal making proclivities, his involvement -- and clashes -- with governmental entities and people, and his sense of style and accomplishment.

What about Kaleo Griffith and Donald J. Trump ’s performance did you like?

Kaleo's voice is well suited and very Trump-like in delivery, I thought.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Battles with bureaucracy and the making of the 45th President

Interesting stories

Any additional comments?

Interesting stories and worth listening to, particularly for someone not in the real estate business as it puts into perspective the way big real estate deals are put together. If you are in the business, you will already know most of this, but the stories, particularly of the ice rink in NYC, are fun to hear. Regardless of your opinion of President Trump politically, this book shows his negotiating savvy and financial brilliance.

Bragadocious, but he has a lot to be produd of

This is an interesting book, considering it is by our current president. It tells of several deals, obviously from the deal maker's own perspective, that required a good deal of finesse to make happen. Worth a listen whether or not you like Trump as your president.

2016 election year

I know this was written 30 years ago...and I know it was written by Trump...but. He was saying things 30 years ago he is saying today. The business concepts, common sense, cost cutting etc. are timeless

Decide For Yourself

One side thinks Donald Trump is our economic savior and one side thinks he's the devil himself. After listening to this book I have a great appreciation for his experience dealing with government stupidity and entitlement mentality. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to look beyond the media hype and understand who this guy is and why he does what he does. You might be surprised.

Understanding Trump

I listened to this book because I was interested in knowing more about the man Donald Trump. There is a lot of negativity about him in the press and I wonder why. He sounds like a very motivated man trying to make things work as well as make things look nice. He also sounds very enlightened and educated. I personally like him very much. He has a fabulous understanding of how things work in America and I hope I can learn that too. Although I don't gamble because the bible says we shouldn't, I wish to be a billionaire someday soon. Now I have a better understanding of why God made him President.
