About this listen

Maita has good reasons for bad feelings in this multicultural and interracial love triangle drama about the power of love and the pitfalls of obsession.

Two lovers. Two continents. Two cultures. One unforgettable love story.

Maita, a Zimbabwean graduate student, has returned to London on summer break with one goal: to reunite with Ade, her Nigerian ex-boyfriend. She made a terrible mistake when she broke up with Ade—and now she wants him back. On the flight to London, she meets Chris, a British gentleman who is instantly captivated by Maita and pursues her relentlessly.

When Ade rejects Maita’s efforts to rekindle their romance, she turns to Chris. As a couple, Maita and Chris are forced to confront racism, the complexities of an interracial relationship, and their insecurities.

But Maita has never forgotten Ade…nor has he ever gotten over her. Then, in a sudden turn of events, a determined Ade resurfaces and attempts to reconnect with Maita. But Chris is doubly prepared to keep her at any cost, unleashing a dangerous chain of events that will forever alter the course of all three lives.

How far will each man go to win her love?

Turning Tables is an engaging romantic women’s fiction novel that explores the challenges and triumphs of multicultural and multiracial relationships—a poignant and extraordinary story of love, missed opportunities, and second chances.

This book is a wild, exciting, beautiful ride

This book!!!!!!!! I started it because of the gorgeous cover and clever title. But the story blew my mind. The characters were so real and complicated. I went back and forth about who should be with who. As the POV switched so would my opinions. The ending completely shocked me and my heart is still pounding. This book was so exciting to read. I absolutely loved it.

Brilliant

Reverting and suspenseful. It explores the reality of finding love as an immigrant as well as the challenges of intercultural relationships.
A romantic thriller that kept me listening.

Different chapter with different narrators

Is there a part 2? Great books indeed.
I wonder what happens with Chris. Did Noma deliver the baby? Curious !

Must read

I loved this book. It is relatable. We have been there wanting to be back with an X and having to move on. I love the different events. Waiting and hoping a book 2 is coming.

Tables definitely turned- not an average love story

I was looking for a love story but not a sappy, predictable boy-meets-girl novel where the ending is a fairytale wedding. This novel delivered a realistic love story of missed opportunities, second chances, and love that never fades. Interestingly it delivers with suspense, drama, crime, and romance. I enjoyed different speaker’s voicing Ade, Chris, and Maita - truly bringing each character to life!! Just wished the dialogue scenes included multiple voices instead of the one narrator voicing each speaker. Recommend this work to anyone seeking a love story but who does not want a mushy, steamy romance novel. Turning Tables is for the reader who likes a love story written with truths like right person at the wrong time, or being in love yet still wanting to fulfill individual goals before marriage. The Audible sample gives away a crucial scene but this novel still allows the reader ample plot development. I hope there is a sequel; we are left with just enough to anticipate a sequel.
