Publisher's summary
The Greatest Western Writers of the 21st Century
For generations, the Jensen family has staked their claim in the heart of the American West. Now the legacy continues as twin brothers Ace and Chance Jensen find justice...swinging from a hangman's noose.
The bad also die young
In a court of law, it takes 12 jurors to convict a killer. Two of them are Jensens. It all started when those Jensen boys, Ace and Chance, got roped into jury duty. It should have ended when justice was served with the killer dancing on the end of a rope. But no. This is just the beginning of the death sentence for Ace, Chance, and the other 10 terrified jurors.
A jury of 12 men and dead
He's one of the most notorious outlaws in the west. He's also the brother of the hanged killer. Now he's here in town - and plans to slaughter the jurors, one by one. There's just one hitch: Ace and Chance aren't getting ready for judgment day. They're gunning for justice - Jensen style....

Their father is Luke Jensen, supposedly killed in the Civil War. Their uncle Smoke is one of the fiercest gunfighters the West has ever known. It's no surprise that the inseparable Ace and Chance Jensen have a knack for taking risks - even if they have to blast their way out of them. Chance is a bit of a hothead, good with his gun and his fists. Ace is more of a thinker, sharp as a snake bite and just as deadly quick.

Corrupt, cutthroat rancher Joe Mullen—who ruled the land with an iron fist—is finally behind bars, thanks to Sheriff Holt. Story
There’s nothing particularly unusual for a legendary gunman to be summoned to the lawless, bullet-riddled territory of Arizona. But when Frank Morgan, a.k.a. the Last Gunfighter, rides into Tucson, he finds himself ambushed and kidnapped by ruthless Mexican bandit Ramirez’s army of thugs. The only way out is for Frank’s son, Conrad Browning, heir to the vast Browning fortune, to ransom his father free. But Conrad isn’t giving up one cent. He’s got a far deadlier currency in mind.

Holt’s latest job is in Devil’s Gulch in Colorado Territory. But wiping out bands of bank robbers is just the beginning. More disorder is brewing, and the skittish mayor has handpicked Holt as the new sheriff. Holt is what the town needs: a mercenary with a badge, a loaded Remington, and a deadeye-aim for trouble. Devil’s Gulch has the vigilance committee. The man behind it—Joe Mullen, the largest rancher and mine owner in the valley—isn’t keen on an outsider like Holt muscling in on a good thing. Mullen already has his hand in all the crime in Devil’s Gulch.

Johnny Shooter was sentenced to hang at noon. But Judge Isaac Parker, widely known as the "Hanging Judge", made Johnny an offer he couldn't refuse. The judge made him a Deputy United State Marshal, then sent his new deputy after the worst-of-the-worst outlaws the Indian territory had to offer, with the orders not to burden the court by bringing them back for trial. Now, rumor has it that whenever outlaws gather around a campfire, the word is: "The only thing worse than standing before the Hanging Judge is hearing that Johnny Shooter is on your trail!"

But when Savage travels to Buzzard’s Bluff, Texas, to check out his inheritance, he meets the saloon’s lovely manager, Rachel Baskin, and has a change of heart.

A deeply divided nation. Vicious politics. A shamelessly partisan media. A president loathed by half the populace. Smuggling and gang warfare along the Mexican border. Armed citizens willing to stand their ground and take law into their own hands.... That was America in 1881. All those forces came to bear on the afternoon of October 26, when Doc Holliday and the Earp brothers faced off against the Clantons and the McLaurys in Tombstone, Arizona. It should have been a simple misdemeanor arrest.

Great story
I love listening to Jack Garrett. I have listened to several books he has narrated. He brings so much life to the stories and keeps you from putting the book down .
when I look for a Johnstone book I always look to make sure he is narrating it before I purchase it.

Unofficial Depuy's
If you have been following the Smoke Jensen family series, then you may or may not know of the two Jensen boys. They are Ace and Chance Jensen of the family.
They like most other Jensen's hit the trail some times with no destination in mind, just looking to see what is over the next hills. These two were doing just that. After a hard, long ride on the trail they came upon a small town, Line Pine in New Mecico. The boys thought They would leave their horses with the livery stable man to feed and take care of the for a couple of days, get a room in the hotel, a bath something to eat, then visit a saloon for drinks to wet their whistleswhistl, Afterwards turn in for the night. After a couple of days rest, they would get some supplies and continue on. However; it didn't turn exactly as they hoped. They chose the exact bar in town of the two the livery stable told the was trouble. The old man told them a rough neck type man named Peate McClaren and his four side kicks, fast gunslinger's are in there and it didn't take long before trouble broke out between the two. They tried to defuse his bullying, but to no avail. They were not ones to back down. After all Peate had to keep up his reputation as top dog in this town. He may have underestimated the Jensen boys as just saddle tramps and easy pickings.
I have followed William Johnstone and his Brother's The Last Mountain Man Series for awhile now and never been disappointed. He always has great story lines, action bullying and a true picture of the old west. I recommend his books to all teens and above.
Jack Garrett is usually his Narrator and does a remarkable job.

Too much goody two shoes
Went way way OVERBOARD with the goody two shoes BullCrap! If these 2 boys would have done the Right Thing, half the dead innocent people would’ve survived. Complete shit with this particular storyline. Don’t waste time you won’t get back. Compared to Most of the other books, this should be moved out of circulation!

This is boring.
dislike the legal machinations that really are the same as today's machinations. I read these books for an escape not an immersion into today's legal morals. well read though.
