About this listen

The crime-solving duo Geneva Pomolo and Iris Reeves are invited to a comeback party hosted by country-music legend Dick Morrow. In the past 20 years, Dick’s style of folksy country had lost favor on the radio, having been crowded out by the louder, more aggressive brands. Dick released an acclaimed bluegrass album that sold approximately three copies, but now he’s ready to reclaim the stage that made him a star.

Those dreams are put to pasture, however, when Dick’s body is found on the side of the road, having apparently been pushed over an embankment in the dead of night. As Wrangler’s Hill prepares to mourn its beloved country musician, Geneva and Iris find themselves investigating a murder with no shortage of suspects. There’s Tina, the long-suffering wife who watched him shamelessly flirt with fans at concerts and rodeos for over thirty years…. Mitchell Bryan, an old friend from school whose own dreams were eclipsed when Dick’s took flight…the infamous Rick Morrow, the twin brother who made a living by impersonating his more successful sibling—and then disappeared without a trace.…

As the investigation deepens, Geneva realizes that some crimes have deep roots—and that it’s going to take all her considerable cunning to sift through the tangled legacies of family and fame to find a killer who already may be planning to kill again.

Great short mystery

It is a short adventures mystery that has plenty of wild twists and turns. The girls were quirky funny yet serious. I must admit though I was not able to guess the outcome and was quite surprised by it. I also really enjoyed Gregory Kellis Style of narrating. He did a great job at conveying each characters personally.

Twins, Murder, and Secrets

There is trouble abound in Wranglers Hill when a local country singer is murdered. Geneva and Iris are on the case, but with so many suspects and secrets, will the killer get away, or will there be more victims! I love the plot twists and turns because it makes it almost impossible to find the real culprit, especially when secrets are revealed. Just when I think I was close, more things are revealed. The plot is definitely unique and intriguing, and the suspense holds you until the very end.
The writing is phenomenal, as well as my favorite amateur sleuths Iris and Geneva. The narration is good. I highly recommend this book and series. If you listen to or read cozy mysteries of a more mature level, you will love this series. I received this book for free upon my request. I am leaving my honest, unbiased review here of my own free will.

Good

This was kind of sad when you hear the whole story. Deception and coverups. I tried guessing, but didn't come close to the real answer. I enjoyed the adventure. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest opinion. The narrator did a good job bringing it to life.

Enjoyable story

Twins & Trouble by Donna Muse is a good story that had a lot of twists and turns before the mystery is solved. I like the Mrs. Pomolo investigates series and this one did not disappoint. The narration by Gregory Kellis was very good. There were a lot of characters to voice and he did a great job.
