Publisher's summary

Confront the lies that hold you back. Discover the truth that sets you free.

Let's face it - the Bible contains passages that are challenging to interpret and can even incite fear. Sure, we want to believe that God's grace applies to our unique troubles: addiction, divorce, habitual sins, or a feeling of distance from God because we don't seem to measure up. Still, perplexing Bible passages eat at us.

Best-selling author and national radio host Dr. Andrew Farley is known to challenge legalistic and lifeless interpretations with his discerning take on controversial scriptures. In Twisted Scripture, Andrew skewers sacred cows and shatters destructive lies, bringing the undiluted truth about God's love and grace in a colorful and conversational look at the most controversial passages in the New Testament.

This book offers more than just encouragement and freedom. It may change everything about the way you see yourself and God.

As far as the performance of the audiobook I would have preferred it be performed by the author Dr. Andrew Farley.
I feel something always gets lost when someone other than the author reads the book as no one can convey the emotions and message better than the authors themselves. you'll understand what I'm talking about if you go to AndrewFarley.org and listen to some of his teachings.

also don't miss out on The bonus chapter on his website AndrewFarley.org /bonus

The Lies We Believe

This is a very intelligent book worth reading or listening to. I think this author is still believing some lies particularly about tongues. I think it’s interesting when I hear people who are saved believers in Yeshua/Jesus still misunderstanding Yeshua/Jesus’ baptism in His Holy Spirit. Having Yeshua/Jesus immerse you in His Holy Spirit causes you to have access to ALL of His 9+ spiritual gifts. As you receive these gifts, you must practice using them to edify others as well as being edified by them yourself. I grew up a traditional Baptist and left that cult to BELONG to YESHUA and walk in His Spirit. I am not perfect, of course, but I was immersed (baptized) by Yeshua/Jesus at the age of 15 and prayed in tongues under my breath until I finally left the “tradition’s of man” (Baptist church) as an adult. Now I practice tongue praying and prophecy as much as possible! This is the will of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ- pagan translation of Hebrew) for me. Here I give you the Hebrew tongue with your pagan English to explain God’s language and languages.

Great read with questions

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I love Andrew and his articulate way of covering scripture. Although I appreciate much of what is presented in the 45 chapters, I do see some presuppositions of what others think. Bowling pins are set up and then knocked down. Again I love the book and gleaned much to ponder, I can't agree with some of the exegesis and theology. A few iffy doctrinal positions are taken. Concerning grace, once saved always saved I couldn't agree more! I encourage the read and please be careful to not throw the baby out with the bathwater. Thanks Andrew for this thoughtful contribution to the body of Christ.

Liberating book

This is a fantastic book which pushes over many ‘sacred cows’ which is okay until they are your particular ones. It really opened up my eyes to to further understand the scripture and the purposes of God, the depth of what He has done for us and the amazing beauty of his love and grace.

It’s all about Grace

I know these truths, and I’ve heard these lies. So why do I allow myself to slip into these wrong headed ideas that leave me shamed, broken and frustrated?
God’s grace is sufficient! Amen 🙏🏽
