Publisher's summary

He can protect anything except his heart.

Leese Phelps's road hasn't been an easy one, but it's brought him to the perfect job - working for the elite Body Armor security agency. And what his newest assignment lacks in size, she makes up for in fire and backbone. But being drawn to Catalina Nicholson is a dangerous complication, especially since it could be the very man who hired Leese who's threatening her.

What Catalina knows could get her killed. But who'd believe the sordid truth about her powerful stepfather? Beyond Leese's ripped body and brooding gaze is a man of impeccable honor. He's the last person she expects to trust - and the first who's ever made her feel safe. And he's the only one who can help her expose a deadly secret, if they can just stay alive long enough.

Great story but the narration was impossible to enjoy

Alexander has a sexy voice that I loved for his male parts. But the voices he gives to the female parts was insulting offensive and impossible to get past. I finally had to turn the audio off and just read the book. He needs to narrate with a female counterpart and stick with male parts for his gorgeous voice.

Lori of course never disappoints. The book was sexy sensitive emotional and just the right amount of action and intrigue.

An enjoyable book ruined by the narrator

I deserve a badge or award of some kind after making it through this book. Ms. Foster was totally let down by this narration. Where are the people responsible for selecting the narrators for this series? Mr. Cendese was okay with the male characters but was incredibly bad with female voices!! Doesn’t anyone listen before taking our $$? I am interested in the rest of the series but will have to read them - unfortunately. What was wrong with Jim Frangione? He successfully narrated some other series. This book/series would have benefited from male/female narration. Why do we have to tell the editors this obvious fact.

Great start to another great series.

I will like this series, but I miss Jim Frangione. The new guy has a nasal female voice that is a little off putting. Not irritating enough to avoid the book, just not what I have come to expect from Foster's audio books.

Lousy reading

The man who told The story made the young woman sound like an excitable eight-year-old boy. It was really really bad

Classic style

A damsel in distress and a man just doing his job combine to make a romantic suspense that is well done. She's running not only to save herself but those she loves and he will protect her at all costs. Along the way they find that they are attracted beyond the usual and she wants to be more than a job to him. There's some really good guys and some creepy bad guys that found out this fast paced tale. Unfortunately I didn't really care for how the narrator did his female voices. They were terrible, but the males were just fine. So, if you can bypass that you should enjoy this hot suspense.

Was this really a Lori Foster book?

I have read many of Lori Foster's books and loved most of them. This one just seemed too flat. And the new aerator didn't help at any. His female Voice was quite irritating.
I would have to tell you to pass on this book. And I don't think I will be listening to the next one. But I will keep trying to find good books by Lori Foster because I know she has some good ones out there. This just wasn't one of

Love Love Love Lori Foster but

Loved the story but the voices on the narration drove me crazy especially the girls voice very annoying if I didn't want to hear this story so bad I would have left it. I hope the next story has different narrators

Story Fine - Narration Not Fine

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The narration. Alexander Cendese is a fine reader any character voices specifically female voices - terrible, distracting and made the women sound weak, moronic and as if they are in some kind of strange classic noir movie.

If you’ve listened to books by Lori Foster before, how does this one compare?

This is not nearly as good as Lori's other books. The poor narration didn't help but the book left something to be desired. The dialogue was at times completely unbelievable.

Would you be willing to try another one of Alexander Cendese’s performances?

If he was only speaking in a male voice - yes. Any female voices - no way. Other character voices - not great but not as bad as female voices.

Was Under Pressure: w/ Bonus Novella: Built for Love worth the listening time?

I listen in the car so I pushed through....but I thought several times about abandoning the book. I know that this is a series and hope this might be a just a bad apple in a good bunch.

Any additional comments?

I hope this mediocre book is not a bad sign for the series.

Narrator is SO bad...

I have read many books by Lori Foster and I love her books. I thought this would be a good listen but the Narrator is so awful. The female voices are horrible and it is too distracting. I think I might have to stop listening now even though a small part of me wants to hear the rest of the story. I hate not finishing books but I just cant listen to this guy another minute. I wonder if I can return it?

Voices Sucked

I love her books, but the person narrating sounds awful. I really want to read the other 3 books in this series, but I don't know if I can listen to these awful impressions for 3 more books. I prefer Jim Frangione.
