About this listen

“Reading Unleased Holiday was sheer joy. I chewed up the pages.” —#1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber

When an old rival reappears right before the holidays, a professional dog trainer must decide if the melting frost between them can make up for their ruff past, from the
USA Today bestselling author of Dog Friendly.

Chelsea Higgins is doing just fine. She’s heading into the holidays at the helm of a thriving dog training business, and she’s got a mellow senior dog at home to keep her warm at the end of the day. What more could she need? Enter certified gym bro Andrew Gibson: Chelsea’s former nemesis, and now the newest neighbor in her business complex, who also wants to expand into the vacant space Chelsea’s been eyeing for months. Who cares if it’s the season of joy? Let the turf war begin.

When an unfortunate (and literal) run-in with Andrew’s lawless dog leaves Chelsea with a bum wrist, the two strike a deal: Andrew will help Chelsea rehab the injury if she’ll work with him to train his adorably uncivilized boxer.

Their typical bickering soon turns to bantering, and Chelsea finds herself inexplicably drawn to the man she thought she had nothing in common with. As she gets to know Andrew and his parents, she realizes she needs to refocus on her own family, especially with a milestone Christmas speeding toward them. But Chelsea can't help wondering if she and Andrew are training for keeps, or if this unexpected Christmas gift is just too good to be true.

Critic reviews

"Reading Unleased Holiday was sheer joy. I chewed up the pages. There’s much to recommend this delightful book: a festive story gift wrapped for Christmas, three charming dogs, mean girls of the goat variety, a handsome hero, and a reluctant heroine." —Debbie Macomber, #1 New York Times bestselling author

"When I start a Victoria Schade book, I know I’m in for love, dogs, and a happily ever after. Unleashed Holiday is that and more, wrapped in a healing red bow, that’s sure to be the perfect book for your fall and winter holidays.” —Tif Marcelo, USA Today bestselling author of the Heart Resort series

"How do you make a holiday rom-com even more swoon worthy? Just add dogs. This holiday heartwarmer about a dog trainer helping to civilize her nemesis' pooch is laugh out loud funny, abundantly festive and delightfully sexy. Two paws up! I absolutely loved it." —Colleen Oakley, USA Today bestselling author of The Mostly True Story of Tanner and Louise

Main character Chelsea who trains dogs

This was a nice easy romantic and fun read for the Holiday season. Like able characters draw you into the story. I finished this book pretty quickly because I enjoyed it!

Great story - great delivery. I listened to this during a PA to FL drive and I almost wanted to stay in the car and finish the book at the end!

Cute holiday love story

Completely corny and predictable, but a cute feel good holiday story. If you like hallmark movies, you’ll enjoy this read!

More Dog Less Romance

I have enjoyed other books in this series, but this one has only a superficial veneer of dogginess, It's mainly a romance. I would say about 10% dog, 90% romance. I don't mind a dog story with a romantic veneer, but I don't read romances just for their own sake, unless it's Jane Austen level. Not the drivel that is mass-produced these days. The two dogs on the cover just make an occasional cameo appearance in this novel. This was supposed to be my dog book of the week but I was pretty disappointed. The dogs need to figure more prominently than this. At least 50/50, if there has to be a romance. Nothing wrong with Mara Wilson's narration.
