Incredible Conclusion

Bruce and Graham return to make an incredible story jump to life in your head. the plot, while insanely varied and far fetched, is still somehow cohesive enough to hold together and creates a story only Graham McNeil could write.
Bruce delivers some of the best narration in all 40k and gives every character a gripping personality. 10/10

Bruce and graham nail it again!

This is the highest stakes story in the Uriel Ventris series yet! It’s written very well and covers basically every named Ultramarine character as well as resolving the story from previous books. Such a satisfying read.

Great! but unfortunately... Sicarius.

the book is told with some fluff in the book. it exalts the ultramarines as though it's told from a perspective of a great story. I drop it two stars in the story just because it leaves some questions unanswered. like the recovery of some ultramarines or how Calgar faced his failure or even learned from it. and you know... Sicarius is terrible that dropped it one whole star for him, just existing. however, this may be an amazing story because there isn't any: "This named ultramarine killed 50 million demon lords of Korn then decided to take on the entire hive mind shirtless in a brawl." it's a GREAT book... if you can get over the fluff.

Solid end to the series

First yes their is a 7th book but that came out 10 years later. I like McNeill's series, he's a solid writer who has a good grasp of how to move a story forward and how to relate books back to previous works, as well as developing characters. Everything has come full circle now for Uriel Ventris and Pasanius Lysane. Not to mention that this a novel about a sub-sector wide deployment for the entire chapter and Graham really delivers on that idea.

Great finish to the series!

Loved the ending of this Ventris series. A ton of action and great heroic Ultramarine moments permeate this book. Many famous UM’s have great moments and the Sentinel of the Tower, Uriel Ventris has a great and satisfying send off. Hope we get more of him in the future.

Great presentation

I loved the narrator this was an epic story although I wished they had taken more time to explain the ending in greater detail. I've loved the whole series, these are worh your time.

Good, story overall, a bit too fanboyish

The book was overall enjoyable, but I felt that it was exalting the Ultramarines a bit too much (I did not feel it this strong in previous books in the series). But we have good action, multiple types of enemies and interesting characters, so overall it's an enjoyable book.
