Publisher's summary

Research shows happy couples think in ways unhappy couples don’t. What if you could ensure your thoughts were setting you up to love well?

You can.

In Us In Mind: How Changing Your Thoughts Can Change Your Marriage, you will discover through Scripture, research, and neuroscience an ironically simple way of rethinking how you see your marriage. You will focus on just five intentional thoughts which are designed to help you love well, even when it’s not easy:

  • What do you think about yourself?
  • What do you think about your spouse?
  • What do you think about your spouse’s emotions?
  • What do you think about your response?
  • What do you think is the purpose of your marriage?

Be assured, this audiobook is not a stuffy textbook: it’s full of humor, real-life examples, and practical application. Whether you love marriage audiobooks or hate them, this guide holds a fresh perspective on marriage for everybody, offering even the biggest skeptic a relevant takeaway.

You can change your marriage by changing your thoughts. It’s simpler than you think.

Critic reviews

“Ted Lowe absolutely nails it in Us In Mind when he writes that your thoughts are what matters most when it comes to marriage. Learning to change your mind by taking control of your thoughts can be the difference between a miserable marriage and a loving and fulfilling partnership for life.” (Daniel G. Amen, MD, author of You, Happier and The End of Mental Illness)

Amazing

Great research and a great way to include Jesus, psychology and neuroscience to provide a map to love my husband first.

Practical, relatable, enjoyable

Great book, will listen again and recommend to others. After listening, plan to buy a physical copy for reference as well.

If author reads this, an accompanying PDF (have had other audible books do this) of the five thoughts, maybe some of the summaries/scriptures, and the challenge would be a nice reference.

Great book on marriage

This book have many good nuggets to use on how to change your mindset when it comes to your spouse, for example each is created in God’s image not our image.

A simple and understandable message.

I am a very determined man, one which and tries to do everything right, checks all the boxes, so not to be wrong. Though I have been in therapy and understand my childhood ptsd, this book washed all that away so I could much more easily find focus on the great things my wife does, and not so much on the things that are “perfectly” right!
