The way the female reader made the MMC sound, though out the ENTIRE book was frustrating to say the least. Nobody would sound slow & drawn out like that, especially in the majority of those conversations..

Jill Ramsower pens another thrilling romantic suspense set in her amazing “Bryne Brothers’ series. This book features Oran Byrne and Lina Schultze and their paths cross while both are on a mission of their own. Oran sees Lina as an opportunity of revenge, except Lina wants nothing to do with him, but he is resourceful and gives her no choice. Oran is ruthless and determined to get what he wants regardless of what they want or need, but he met his match in Lina. Neither one trust each other, or know what the other is up to, but that does not stop them from moving forward. I despised Lina’s mother and stepfather and who they were involved with, they were evil and depraved and Lina was in way over her head. She may not have known what she was in for, but Byrne was always a step ahead of her. I loved all the layers of this story, the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. This book captivated my attention from start to end, the story has plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Jill Ramsower, thank you for another amazing story and the wild and exciting ride!

🎧📚🎧Jo Raylan and Jason Clarke did a fabulous job bringing these characters and story to life. Their portrayal of each character was spot-on, giving each their own voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who was who. I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the character would sound. Clarke nailed it as Oran, intense and dangerous with a side of arrogance, definitely a man who knows who he is, what he wants and gets it. Raylan was just as amazing as Lina, strong headed, determined and fierce. Both were fantastic performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration elevates this story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

This was my first listen by this author and I will tell you, it will not be my last! From start to finish, I was hooked and didn't want it to end!

Oran & Lina were beautifully chiseled. The dynamic between them was like fireworks! Their story is filled with twists, turns, secrets, revenge, and what a rollercoaster ride it was! The way Oran becomes possessive when he sees Lina, then falls hard and fast, was just what my heart needed!

The narrators that brought Oran & Lina to life are on my favorites list, so I loved that. The way 𝐽𝑎𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝐶𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑘𝑒𝑠 gravelly voice fit Oran to a T was perfection! 𝐽𝑜 𝑅𝑎𝑦𝑙𝑎𝑛 has a smooth voice that was beautifully done as she breathed life into Lina's character. Together, these two narrators put their whole selves into these characters and were perfectly casted!

If you love a spicy, mafia, fake engagement romance with a possessive hero who will leave you panting, and a heroine who steals the enemy's heart, then you need to grab this one up. I am very much looking forward to going back to the other books in this series and finding out where this world started!

Can't Get Enough!

Going into this book, I wasn't sure if I would like Oran. He just seemed so withdrawn in the previous books (for good reason).
Jill has me hooked with this family! I can't listen to these audios fast enough!!

This is a forced fake engagement story with some twists and turns I didn't see coming!! With being set in a Mafia world, you get so much more than what meets the eye.

Oran and Lina have an unconventional way of getting together. And I loved the tenacity of Lina and her mission. She was driven by love, and I adored her for it.
Oran seems cold and detached. But you get to see the different layers to him through this story. I enjoyed seeing his softer side when he found his perfect match.

The audio of this one was amazing. You put Jason Clarke in my ears, and I am a happy listener! That man could read me a recipe, and I would listen with rapt attention.
Jo Raylan is another favorite. I like her voice for Lina, and she has the best tone for the fierce character.

I will be diving right into the next book...

I've been so excited to hear Oran & Lina's story!

So I'll be honest, this was a completely different side of Oran than what I was expecting, but I was here for it! The man had a softer side then I imagined, and I loved seeing how protective he was over Lina. He certainly had the role down as the older, protective one of the family.

Lina is a total badass! The woman has been through it and is a true survivor. Her willingness and length she goes to battle her own demons in order to protect the ones she loves was great to see in an FMC.

I loved the story, and it was a great wrap-up to the series. The narrators were both new to me, and I felt like they did a great job. They conveyed the emotions to match the tone of the story and hooked me in.

I’ve read Jill’s work previously, so it was a no brainer to listen to this when i had an opportunity. And both the story and performance was great, and i’m back on my trend of giving audiobooks another chance!

I liked the characters and the plot progression. I would have probably liked a bit more spice, i was still content with the amount and heat we got.

Oren and Lina were great, and their chemistry as well as back and forth was awesome! It was fun to read how Lina was mouthing off to Oren but also great to see how she wanted to submit to him.

Overall, this was a great story, and i’ll probably be sitting down and doing a reread of other books as i can’t remember all the characters.

I was nervous going into this book due to how jaded I expected Oren to be, so glad I was wrong. Favorite so far!

Jill Ramsower is an auto buy for me because always delivers a great immersive story that I can’t stop listening to.. well her skills and the great voice acting by the chosen narrators. And Oran and Lina’s romance was one of those stories.

Oran, secretive and hell bent on revenge and destruction.. Lina, with baggage, secrets and a missing sister to find. Both heading down the same dark path to find answers.. answers they each hold close. Oh, if only they could, or would, trust each other.. but trust won’t come easy.. or soon. And Oran’s revenge takes a sidestep with a change of plans when he’s inexplicably drawn to his pawn Lina, when he becomes possessive over who touches her and will kill to protect his ‘fake’ fiancé. Lina is on a mission, she’s strong and she doesn’t trust men’s intentions - and that includes Oran. So let the moves, and battles, and fireworks, and slow-burn, and heat, and revelations commence.

Worth a credit? Yes, a very enjoyable and delicious push n pull with mystery, chemistry, verbal clashes, tingles, tension, murder, blackmail and so much more. And the stellar voice acting by Jason and Jo brought the characters and feels to life making this listen entertaining, engaging and very easy on the ears.
