About this listen

Included in this volume:

"The Tinglers", from an original story by Mark L. Miller. In this sequel to the Vincent Price classic The Tingler, Dr. Chapin and his crew search for a primitive tribe with ties to the elusive creature that is spawned from fear with a grip like iron. What they find in the dark jungle gives new meaning to the word terror!

"Fade Away", from an original story by Nick Lyons. Private Eye Frank Wood is investigating the mysterious break-ins at the home of a wealthy old man named Jack Leonard. Is there really an intruder, or is Jack losing his mind - seeing someone, or something, that isn't really there?

"Canus", from an original story by Chad Helder. In this macabre tale, in which gothic horror meets the perversions of science, a young boy must survive a bizarre rite of passage: he must confront a creature deep within a mad scientist's dungeon!

"Road Rage", from an original story by Darren G. Davis and Paul J. Salamoff. An advertising executive involved in a little fender-bender must suffer through a nightmare: the retribution of a sinister adversary with a twisted mind.

Family listening?

We wanted to have a few scary stories for a family road trip. We love Vincet Price. But with the foul language in these fun scary stories, we were left wondering how the story ended.

Fun-fun-fun

This audio book is a trip down memory lane. The sounds make one tingle. Professionally done. The script, the music, the voices, and the sound effects fit together perfectly. Hope there will be a Vol 2! This program definitely is something we will listen to over and over again. Great listening.

Great Production of Tales Inspired by Vincent Price

A wonderful collection of suspense inspired by the late master, Vincent Price. Unfortunately, he doesn’t appear in this collection. The stories are interesting and beautifully voiced. Production quality is excellent and the interview with his daughter is a treat. I will be listening to the rest of the collection. Very enjoyable.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this different way to present these stories. It added an enjoyable way to remember them. I especially enjoyed the interview with Vincent Price's daughter. Her comments and memories were interesting.

Where’s Vincent?

I expected at least a narration by Vincent Price and he was no where to be found. A disappointment. I feel cheated. I mean Vincent Price presents is misleading.

Not quite worthy of the name

For those who failed to read this audiobook's description, be warned all ye who enter here. Vincent Price is nowhere to be found. Instead Bluewater has apparently licensed Vincent Price's name alone to paste over the top of four stories of varying quality of plot and performance. Things start off pretty well with the Tinglers which sounds like a modern reproduction of a vintage radio program and thankfully no one does a horrible Vincent Price accent. Things slowly go downhill from there Fade Away is not bad, Canus is truly laughable and Road Rage is confusing and poorly performed. There's also an interview with Victoria Price, which while interesting does sound slightly canned and rehearsed. Not many interesting details there unless you don't know much about the titular star of this program, who again makes no appearance in any form anywhere. Instead you get one guy who only has one stage English accent and a 13 year old who plays most of the adult parts. Price could pull off even the highest camp because he was a top caliber actor. Sadly, the voice talent here is not and much of the intended humour falls a little flat. Luckily this is a cheap book, so if you but it for The Tinglers you aren't out much money, but there are much better programs out there and Audible also has some of Price's actual work including The Saint and Three Skeleton Key.
