The New York Times best-selling author of The Black Jewels Trilogy transports readers to a world of magic and political unrest - where the only chance at peace requires a deadly price....
The Others freed the cassandra sangue to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before - both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.
Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.
For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep....

What made the experience of listening to Vision in Silver the most enjoyable?
Everyone's different perspectives on the situation. Some things you can guess ahead of time but the reveals are always perfect.Which scene was your favorite?
I love all the scenes when Simon and Meg are confused. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
During one scene, one of the girls spends time on the porch. I cried; her description of her joy was beautiful.Any additional comments?
My beef is, these books are so long that when they are over, I feel like I have binge-watched a show. I don't want to leave the world created for us. I wouldn't want them shorter, in fact, longer would be preferred. I love this series.I have a beef with the author

The central conflict in this series is between the Others, terra indigene – the earth natives, and the humans. The humans have the technology and the systems, but the Others have dominion over nature – the natural resources. That is why in the world order, the Others hold power over humans. Humans are considered prey. However, some humans are not comfortable with this status and are looking to fight back.
This tension is played out through the characters in and associated with the Lakeside Courtyard. Whereas book one and two are focused on the development of the characters, world-building and establishing the roles of the various characters, this book focuses more on the larger conflict. It’s a game changer.
What’s interesting to me is that although the humans are the lower ranked in this world, they are not the underdogs. There is no sympathy for the greater humankind. Through arrogance, humans have polluted and ravaged the Earth impacting all species. Without taking responsibility for the destruction, humans have redirected their focus on a right for “manifest destiny” and freedom from, what they consider, bondage to the Others. The resentment is fueling a Humans First and Last movement. This is pushing the Others to consider unleashing a Noah-and-the-Flood like destruction.
This is also a story about alienation, misunderstanding, and the attempts by one small faction to overcome that gap. The Lakeside Courtyard is the crucible of those efforts. Because even within the threat of a pending war, people can choose to understand one another.
All of favorite characters are back. Relationships evolve. There is less Simon and Meg than in the other books, but they are still the central part of the story. The rate of their relationship development is still a little slow and frustrating for me. I wasn’t even clear until this book that something else might be developing beyond strong friendship. But given the richness of the story, I’m willing to be patient.
IN A NUTSHELL:
I dare say this is a perfect middle book. It gives us more of our favorite characters, complicates the relationships and furthers the greater conflict.
Audio version: I read the first three books before listening to them on audio. There is great continuity on audio. The narrator is expressive and brings the characters to life!
Perfect Middle Book

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This is an awesome series, tho it was hard for me to get into it at first I have come to love the characters in the story.Who was your favorite character and why?
Of course Meg and Simon are my favorite but I do like Monty I like the part of how sure he is about the role humans play in the others world I like that he's open minded along with Captain Burke.Which character – as performed by Alexandra Harris – was your favorite?
It's hard to pick one character in the series because each play in important part in the whole scheme of the book but if I was to have to pick I do like Henry Bearguard as the Spirit Walker, his calm demeanor to focus on the spiritual part of the prophecies from Meg and he holds together the group I like that part about him, I like Tess I like the fact that she has found a place where she feels wanted and has friendship, that she has something to fight for I feel that this is an important thing for her, something that her species has never had so she's a favorite of mine tooWas this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes and I did and then I listen to it again I listen to the whole series before I start the newest book just to refresh my mind so it's a continuous story for me I'm looking forward to book for hoping for some new characters finding out what is happened to the newly found blood profits I'm interested in what's going on on ferry man's island so I hope that the story continues to growAny additional comments?
This is the superior storytelling adventure it defies my mind that A writer can come up with such a story mine and build on it I'm blown away by the characters the places the things that they do I love this series it's a good read a good listen, the narration was awesome, all in all I give it a thumbs up and a five star review!More Please

Wonderful

This isn't a fast paced book, but the increasing tension between humans and Others and the balancing act between personal and larger political concerns keeps things interesting.
Delightfully atypical

This book was also good. But the Audible version of Vision in Silver is absolutely horrible. The narrator sounds like a twelve-year-old. Just a sickly little girl voice that totally ruined the story for me.
I hate to give poor reviews, believing that most people are doing their best. But, you should know what you are paying for. The narration totally spoils this story.
Great story. Poor performance.
