About this listen

From the Diary of Leonie Noirot: The perfect corset should invite its undoing...

Lethally charming Simon Blair, Marquess of Lisburne, has reluctantly returned to London for one reason only: a family obligation. Still, he might make time for the seduction of a certain redheaded dressmaker - but Leonie Noirot hasn't time for him. She's obsessed with transforming his cousin, the dowdy Lady Gladys, into a swan.

Leonie's skills can coax curves - and profits - from thin air, but his criminally handsome lordship is too busy trying to seduce her to appreciate her genius. He badly needs to learn a lesson, and the wager she provokes ought to teach him, once and for all.

A great plan, in theory - but Lisburne's become a serious distraction and Leonie's usual logic is in danger of slipping away as easily as a silk chemise. Could the Season's greatest transformation be her own?

This is the third book in the series that is Wonderful!

I really don’t want to continue saying the same things about the books in the Dressmakers series but the words “delightful , funny, wonderful characters, great story and narrator “ are the correct ones to use in this review! Read and come up with others! 🤓

Well done

Great wit and nicely developed characters. A step above the usual tired prose. Sensual, clever men & women. Great listen

Unexpectedly Funny at times

Loved Leonie and Lisburne, it’s my favorite of the three sisters’ story. I think because while Sophy was also funny, Longmore was not as full of character. Lisburne and Leonie are more evenly matched.

A joy like all Chase’s works

I always enjoy Ms Chase’s stories. This isn’t my upmost favorite, but it’s still better than 80% of what’s out there. The stories are always so much fun!

Loretta Chase has Outdone Herself

I thought Lord of Scoundrels was the best Chase bookever but Vixen in Velvet is everything and more. I'm not sure why I hadn't ever read it but OMG. I started reading it last night and got up at four to finish. It's inspirational, it's funny, and in some cases, a tear inspiring.
I should also Kate Reading is a wonderful actor. She really brought the story to life.

Re-visited and loved the book

Loretta Chase and Kate Reading did it again...created a wonderful story with interesting characters. In this book...the whole series actually...there is a little bit of everything. There's witty dialogue, strong and complex characters, a beautiful romance and just enough tasteful sex to spice things up. This is definitely a keeper.

Nope

Loved the first book. The second book was very boring. Three chapters into this one and I don’t understand why these two ppl even know one another let alone why they would be attracted to each other. Cutting my losses on this series.

Gladys character well done

Soooo slow. Hard to connect with characters, hard to believe their attractions or romance with each other, & repetitive passages. Standout was the authenticity of the character Gladys as she shows a growth arc in the story, which the main characters do not.
