About this listen

They call me a monster. Murderous and hateful. Beautiful but broken. Nothing can calm the ever raging storm inside of me. As the ruthless leader of the Doubeck family, there is a certain standard of brutality, I have to uphold.

Then I meet her. Beautiful, innocent, and so very afraid. Valentina is a rival family's daughter, and the little temptress has purposely tangled herself in my dark web. She seeks me out, needing my help, but the price for what she wants will be steep.

Since my father’s death, I’ve needed a wife to solidify my family name, and this woman has piqued my interest. So we strike a deal, intertwining our futures. I’ll put a ring on her finger, own her body, keep her safe, and kill them all.

I make a vow to protect her at all costs, that is until her secrets come to light, and I’m left with the choice of becoming the monster she’s only ever heard rumors about.

This is a dark arranged-marriage mafia romance. It contains dub-con/non-con as well as other scenes that may be triggering to some listeners.

1. The female character sucks soooo much. The squeaky childlike voice makes the character even more dislikable. I get that she is young, but the fact she is so docile, meek, and yet is constantly able to tell that Adrian's lips are kissable and attractive makes me mad. I wonder why the women in these stories have to be portrayed as weak and broken, but somehow, still salivating for sex. It is infuriating to read this common storyline. I beg you, please give us something a little more believable.

The female narration is killing me!

Pretty good but kinda dragged on. And cliffhanger at the end. So if you want to know what happens you got to get the next book lol

Good

Valentina's voice is hideous and you should no better. Kill the whiny voice, please. Valentina's voice is the reason for the low rating and really try not to be negative towards a person's art.

No, Maghan aka Valentina, just NO!

I think she was going for innocent and young. It came out as a robotics baby doll trying to read big words (but they don’t use big words). The male voice was good. I can’t listen to the next book. It’s not worth having to listen to her.

Female voice is terrible!

The female character is whiney, self deprecating and annoying. The female narrator captures these qualities well. The male narrator's voice is very pleasant.

Rage inducing whining

The female narrator was not it for me. She does not have the voice for a younger character and made the book hard to finish. The story itself was meh, the MFC was too wishy washy and the MMC was too over the top. If this wasn’t included in my membership, I would’ve asked for my credit back.

Meh

Poor Val has been put through hell. Her husband sounds sexy as hell. A man truly being this strong? Yea. Thank goodness for imaginations.
