About this listen

A flamboyant funeral. A dashing gigolo. Can this psychic sleuth beat the odds on murder?

Mitzy Moon is never one to celebrate death. But a compelling invitation to a 1920s-themed memorial service aboard a riverboat casino entices her to take a gamble. And the only thing hotter than the tables is the newly wealthy widower - until he disappears.

Despite the extravagant decor, Mitzy smells a rat in designer clothing. And warnings from the sexy sheriff, her meddling Ghost-ma, and a spoiled feline all fall on deaf ears, as the list of greedy suspects grows with every spin of the wheel. She’ll have to play her cards just right, or end up on a fatal losing streak!

Can Mitzy win against the house, or will she double down on death?

Wakes and High Stakes is the eighth book in the hilarious paranormal cozy mystery series, Mitzy Moon Mysteries. If you like snarky heroines, supernatural intrigue, and a dash of romance, then you’ll love Trixie Silvertale’s dicey whodunit.

Never a dull Moment!

Mitzy stumbles into another case where she and her extraordinary gifts are indispensable to find out ‚who dun it‘. This book has two ghosts, two corpses and a lot is revealed about a family in the heart of it all. Ghost-ma, Piewacket, Silas and of course Eric aka Sheriff Harper round up the crime solving team. Mitzy‘s undercover outings are a delight, she’s so good at getting into character and if you read/listen to it as an audiobook, like I did, it’s a special treat. Looking forward to an excursion away from Pincherry Harbor in the next book.

Another 5 star rating for Trixie & Mitzi

I love how Mitzi interacts with all of our favorite characters as Mitzi solves not one but two murders. Plus, we get to see her in not one but two disguises as she goes undercover twice! Her abilities are expanding and her relationship with Sheriff To-Hot-To-Handle heats up. Everything we love about Mitzi and her friends is present in this book. There was quite the tease at the end and I can't wait for the next book.
[I was given the opportunity to listen to this via an advance audiobook. I was not, however, required to write a review. The opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.]

Each book is better than the last.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Things are really happening for Mitzi. Another murder in town? Wait two murders? New relatives? The mystery/story has several layers and is very good. Rooting for Mitzi and the sheriff and it is paying off. All the characters we have come to love are there. Pywacket even has clues for solving the mystery. Great ending. Can't wait for the next book in the series

Mitzy Moon solves a puzzling new mystery.

I absolutely loved this audiobook! Mitzy Moon is back again with another puzzling murder to solve.

As Mitzy's psychic ability grows she's seeing more than Ghost-ma! She's also seeing the ghost of her grandmother's arch rival and Ghost-ma is NOT happy. Mitzy will have to use her acting skills and more as she scrambles to help her favorite Sheriff catch a killer.

Stay tuned for a satisfying and surprising ending. Trixie Silvertale never disappoints and this audiobook is no exception! Thanks to the narration of Coleen Marlo the characters come to life.

Well, I didn't see that coming...

Jacob’s past comes into play (and not in a bad way) in “Wakes & High Stakes”, the 8th in what has proven to be a very entertaining series. Isadora (aka Ghost-ma) has been keeping secrets from the past, and Pye is still essential (if not so subtle) when it comes to pointing out clues. The relationship between Mitzi and Eric continues to develop, and the story ends with a startling revelation for our heroine.

As usual Coleen Marlo is amazing as the voice(s) of these well thought out and growing characters.

Waks and High Stakes was FANTASTIC!

Wakes and High Stakes is Book 8 in the Mitzy Moon series by Trixie Silvertale. I absolutely love this character driven series. Mitzy and her Ghost-Ma and Odell are fantastic. I LOVE Pyewacket the carcal, the story is so interesting.

I love the romance between Mitzy and Sheriff Erick and I love how in this installment Ghost-ma has more of an upfront role.

There is a cliff hanger that leaves me SO excited to see what's going to happen next!

Who killed the most hated woman in Pin Cherry?

Witty repartee and an infatuation with film making, make this main character an endearing and lovable snoop that you can't help falling in love with! This series is wrought with wit, sleuthing, family drama including a ghostly grandmother and so much more that you will become weirdly addicted to the series! Add in a fabulous narrator who does an outstanding job of giving each character a bit of je ne sais quoi to already well fleshed out personalities and you have a must listen book series! This book brings us a bit closer to Mitzy letting the handsome sheriff in on her extra sensory skills, although it appears he may already suspect. We also get a closer look at Mitzy's disguise skills as she is able to fool the suspect pool with not one, but two disguises. We also find out that Mitzy's ability to see ghosts may extend beyond Ghost-ma! No spoilers here, you'll have to read or listen to find out what happens for yourself! On the other hand, I absolutely can't wait to see what happens when Mitzy and the sheriff take their sleuthing on the road in the next book!

Great escape

This series has been so much fun! This book did not disappoint! Witty characters that are full of personality, charming setting, and well-plotted mystery to keep you guessing. This book provided me with a great escape and some well deserved down after the holiday stresses.

I listened to the audio version of the book. The narrator did a wonderful job bringing the to story to life. She really nails the aforementioned personalities of the characters.

All thoughts and opinions are my own, and in no way have I been influenced by anyone.
