About this listen

Siege of Terra, Book 6

With the Lion's Gate space port taken by the enemy, Jaghatai Khan of the White Scars prepares a brazen gambit, but one of his former brothers rises to take up arms against him.

Listen to it because: the heroic and dynamic White Scars hurtle headlong into combat with the unyielding Death Guard. As brother battles brother, the fate of Terra itself hangs in the balance.

The story: the Inner Walls are breached.

Traitor vanguards tear towards the heart of the Palace, sensing victory. Desperate gambits are attempted: an unwilling saint is released into the ruins, as well as an enthusiastic sinner. A black sword rises, forged from spite, ready to create a legend. But amid the slaughter, Jaghatai Khan, Warhawk of Chogoris, prepares to launch the most audacious strike of the conflict. His goal is nothing less than the liberation of the Lion's Gate space port. Cut off from any help, he stakes everything on one desperate counter-offensive, launched against an old enemy who has been made far greater than he ever was before. As the White Scars ride out against the newly crowned lords of life and death, they know that defeat for them dooms not only the Legion, but Terra itself.

Written by Chris Wraight. Narrated by Jonathan Keeble.

Excellent

Possibly my favorite of the Siege of Terra so far, though they've all been good!

Then we do what we came here for. Target the fleet

White Scars 10/10 Jaghatai is the Chad of all primarchs. An underrated boss off amongst his brothers who's roasts match that of his sword skill.

Genuinely magnificent

A brutal edition to the series, wonderfully rendered horror and battle with fun characters and good story pacing. A great addition to a great series.

Johnathan Keeble as always kills the performance, mangles the voices with his bate hands and leaves me wanting more. His new audio setup is also really excellent, incredibly crisp reading this time through. Will definitely end up listening more than once.

Drinking game

Take a shot every time Jonathan Keeble says "BOOM!" in an incredibly excited way.

Excellent Book!

Another wondering Siege book. Anything is better than The First Wall, but I liked all of the arcs in this book. Honestly, the White Scars arc was the weakest one to me, but by no means bad in any way. I particularly loved how Wraight laid the groundwork for so much lore in 40k. Overall a great listen!

Happy to be back!

Returning from my hiatus of listening to other books and now back into the Siege. This is one of the few SoT books I was able to stay focused on. Not saying the previous books are boring or anything against Jonathan Keeble. The pacing and the transition between scenes in the previous books muck up my brain. I tend to zone out a lot or mindlessly work while I'm listening to audiobooks. But I found myself constantly having to stop and rewind the previous chapter(s). Life's been hell this year so I have a lot on my mind. Maybe a bit of everything to be honest. But this one I was able to subconsciously keep track of where I was. And the battles in this one were top notch! Looking forward to last couple of books!

Excellent

My favorite entry so far. The pacing was strange on this one though. It was almost as if during editing they cut the pauses in between scene changes.

well done

narration was great, many threads to the story I thought were handled pretty well. bounced around but easy enough to keep track of it all.
