I really enjoyed Jakes story.

Jake, much like Cami, had to deal with family that really wasn’t much like an actual family. His parents did not approve of his daughter with Tonya, much less his girlfriend Charleigh.

Charleigh had her own issues to work through, first with trying to deal with not being allowed to tattoo without confronting her uncle about it and also confronting Bianca about her hostility towards her. Luckily, all goes well with both situations for her.

Jake and Charleigh, once they got through the issues and misunderstandings, were able to finally have a good relationship, which I liked. This story also introduced characters that will most likely have their own stories down the road.


I didn’t really like the fact this story basically had Cami’s situation applied to Jake, with a few minor changes. Not all well off-or rich families/parents are neglecting/ controlling narcissists that only care about their own self interests and none of the kids. Legitimately, I read in another book by a different author, where those rich parents were the supportive ones and the less well off weren’t so supportive.

Less generalizations and more unique family situations would create even better storylines in the future.


I really enjoyed the narrator like always, but I could hear a few noises that weren’t supposed to be in the story. Other than that, the narration was great.

Overall, I would rate this story 4 out of 5 stars.
