About this listen

We don't want you, Uncle Sam! This is what Generation Z is saying with respect to military service.

The all-volunteer force that has served our country well for more than 50 years is at a critical inflection point. Today, recruiters are struggling to bring enough Zoomers into the armed services. Mismatched fundamental ideals, divergent beliefs about the workplace, and other sociocultural influences have contributed to the United States military scrambling to get a grasp on how to appeal to Gen Z. Through the use of personal life stories and macro analysis, this book explains why military recruiting in the United States is at an all-time low in order to suggest ways that American society and its leaders can fix this issue. We must rebuild the value proposition of military service by demonstrating the benefits of the world’s greatest physical social network.

The author provides inciteful interesting material to think about through the book, but the audio quality falls short with the wavering vocal sound level being far too distracting to completely enjoy the book

Audio quality falls short

The audio is TERRIBLE! The author/speaker speaks clearly enough. That's not the problem. The problem is that the volume level goes up and down. He either was frequently rocking towards and away from the microphone, has a hearing issue that affects his internal volume control (I have that problem myself), or had technical problems. Whatever the cause, no quality control was done before publishing.

I honestly made it less than five minutes through this book before I switched to another book out of sheer annoyance at not being able to hear one or words of every fourth or fifth sentence. I simply played it on silent on another device so that I could play it long enough to make the review feature accessible. I've only experienced this problem once or twice on other books (out of the dozens thar I've listened to) and none to the extent as it occurs in this book.

I've heard good things thus far about the book itself, but now I have to wait to find out.

Hopefully, someone responsible for this will notice my review.

Review is ONLY for the audio, which is terrible!

The audio is horrible. The voice fades in and out making difficult to follow the story

Bad recording

Great view points and perspective. The problem is the narration is spotty. Goes from understandable to very low almost unbearable. audible needs to re-record this.

Solid read, but buy the Hard copy.

The Author voices his book at a snail's pace. I kept waiting for him to start saying, “Bueller? Bueller?” The subject is interesting, and he does make some good points, but I could not finish the book. I resorted to reading it!

It is a good subject, yet very boring

The audio was horrible! Very difficult to understand. Couldn't get past the first chapter! Needs to be re-recorded and uploaded for those who have purchased this audio book.

Horrible audio not sure about the book

I think the insights in the book were well considered, but the book comes across as arrogant and engages in quite a bit of stereotyping. Problematically, it was nearly impossible to understand because of how poorly recorded it was. To engage in the somewhat cringeworthy prose that the book does, it sounds like it was recorded on a potato.

Probably Decent, but Audio is Horrible

unfortunately I missed out on fully grasping the content because the audio was so bad. hire a professional narrator.

This audio was unlistenable. It sounds like when you just exceed the range of a pair of Bluetooth speakers from three source. It drifts in and out so often it’s difficult to comprehend the discussion and points. Gosh it’s bad.

Horrible audio

Audio was terrible. It would rise and fall in sounds, cut out in tones, and just a really poor production. I was excited for this book but couldn’t make through it. Update the quality of the audio and I will try this one again.
