About this listen

Sixteen-year-old Cody Forester is a werewolf. He lives in Loxahatchee, Florida, where his horrified parents banished him. He works hard at keeping his superpowers secret, yet the circle of people who know about him is expanding.

Now a bona fide mad scientist is taking an interest in him. Cody learns that her posh werewolf retreat is actually a secret laboratory. Her inmates endure tests and torture to further her megalomaniac dream - while their unwitting families pay dearly in the hope of her finding a cure for lycanthropy.

Cody doesn't want to be her science experiment. Moreover, he doesn't want to be taken away from Brittany, the most beautiful girl in the world. Brittany is the love of his life - even though she is no longer speaking to him. She wants a normal boyfriend.

Desperate and alone, Cody faces the evil doctor. He has one chance of saving himself. Will his reckless ploy be enough to free him from her clutches? Or will he face certain death in the Werewolf Asylum?

An amazingly well written series

This was the second book in an amazingly well written series. Like the first book I didn’t want it to end. I am hoping to listen to more books in this series.

Amazing wolf boy book 2

It is not easy to find such outstanding young adult/teen paranormal fantasy series. This is my favorite genre and this author nailed it again. I love the characters and the story line is outstanding!

Narration was excellent and brought the story to life.

This book has suspense, danger, humor, friendship, and a touch of romance. It is such a well written book and the story moves at a great pace! I found it hard to take a break once I started listening to it.

I’m looking forward to book 3.

Very good follow up to book 1

Great second book in this series. Interesting follow-up storyline, good action, complicated friendships and some mystery. I like how these books are not your usual shifter stories. I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher and/or narrator.

I want that belt!

Any additional comments?

Cody is the new kid in town. He’s hardly been around long enough for his crush to know he’s the Amazing Wolf Boy. Now his mother wants him committed to a Werewolf Asylum. Cody isn’t the only one having parent issues. Brittney and a runaway kid from the nearby Native American tribe also deal with some heavy family drama. Smolen is great at utilizing a recurring theme.

I really liked the different method of shape changing that was introduced in this installment. If I could change into any animal, but it had to be one that I killed, I might end up being something wimpy. Then again, maybe I could get a hawk. It would be awesome to be a bird of prey.

There is more fun in the nude camp next door to Brittney’s house in this one too.

I received a free copy in exchange for a review. Any review. That fact that it’s a good one is because the book is good. Which has nothing to do with how awesome I am. You’ll have to find that out for yourself @S_Shane_Thomas on Twitter.

There was a scene where a couple character surprised me with a show of loyalty that actually made me a bit misty eyed. Don’t tell the other guys…

Recommended Series for teens and young adults

Perfect books for teens and young adults. I found Cody to be a strong protective wolf and the character of Brittany combines for an entertaining story. I do recommend you start with book one, The amazing wolf boy. I also have the audio version which is nicely narrated.

Great follow up to the first

This was very much in keeping with the standard set by the first novel, and there were no surprises. If you liked the first, you will definitely enjoy this one. I look forward to the third installment.

A fun furry teen read!

Werewolf Asylum
The Amazing Wolf Boy, Book 2
By: Roxanne Smolen
Narrated by: Danny Randerson
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary.
This is a fun teen book about werewolves. This time Cody is in trouble with other weres as they are being trapped by a doctor. There is romance, friendship, and suspense. Teen problems with fur! There is also a new character Cody meets, a boy his age that can change into animals with Indian Magic. It is a fun teen read but has evil side too!
The narrator is great and makes it flow wonderfully. Great voices and makes the characters seem real! Great job!

Three and a half stars.

I prefered this book more then the first. I don't know why. It might be due to the fact that this has a bit more adventure and intrigue for me then the first book which is more character and relationship build up.

I would recommend the second book!
The same narrator is used from book one, which I thought is great because you get used to how they voice the characters.
