About this listen

Two legends of the American West, Preacher and MacCallister have always fought for justice. Even when all parties were guilty. When all hope was lost. And when all the killing started....

When all hell broke loose.

It's one of the great mysteries of the Old West. The unexplained disappearance of a hunting party of Prussian nobles who entered the American wilderness - and never returned. Now, years later, the Prussian government demands an explanation. In response, the US Army hires Preacher and Jamie MacCallister to join their search party - along with a band of Prussian soldiers led by the sinister Baron Adalwolf von Kuhner. Some believe it's a hopeless mission, that the original party was slaughtered by the Blackfeet. Others think there may be survivors, most likely women held captive as slaves. But it doesn't take Preacher and MacCallister long to learn the horrible truth....

This is no rescue mission. It's a massacre in the making. And when the hunters become the hunted, all hell breaks loose....

Another great story

Love J. Rodney Turner’s voice & presentation. Truly appreciate his depiction of the ladies & any kids voices. A simple change of tone, not some false high toned fake voices… thank you Mr. Turner.

The story is somewhat predictable, but certainly entertaining nonetheless. Always enjoy the Johnstone stories.

Fun fantasy in the Mountains

Another fun tale of Preacher and Jamie romping through the northwest. Lots of interesting characters, twist, turns, and betrayals.

Another joyful listen

J. Rodney Turner is phenomenal. The preacher character is one of the best of all time. Preacher is to books like John Wayne is to movies. The addition of Jamie just adds to the strength of the book.

Great story, great narration

I really enjoyed this book and the narrator made it live more. I enjoyed the international flavor with the Prussians involved. I would recommend this book to all interested.

Another fine adventure by Johnstone

I liked the development of Prussian mischief on Preacher's wilderness. As always, Johnstone has insight into bad motives among bad people. he understands evil and the need for strong and truly clever people to stand up to it. A really good listen.
Great reading as well. I like the way he gives voice to the characters.

J Rodney Turner is the best narrator, hands down!

The book story was OK if not predictable. However, another flawless performance by J Rodney Turner. He's the best in the business! My book search always begins by searching for his books and then choosing from among them. Salute to you Mr Turner.

Not their fault

Found this title in error, was looking for the preacher series. Never cared for the mcalistor series. But that was more the fault of the broken search feature than the author or narrator.

Boring

Story is boring and monotonous. I am tired of the narrator’s voice. Not enough action.
