About this listen

The only thing worse than being snowed in at the airport on Christmas Eve far from home?

Being snowed in with the one man you’ve been trying your best to avoid.

Bear Hansen is a burly sweetheart with loads of sexy tattoos and big hands that did wickedly wonderful things to me the last time we met. Things that made me want way more than a one-night stand…which is why I ran, blocked his calls, and stopped commenting on his cat videos. I only have a few years to launch my career. I'm determined not to end up filled with regret like my mother, so I have to focus on making my professional dreams come true. But when Bear and I are thrown together by fate on the most magical night of the year, I find myself questioning everything. What if I have this all wrong? What if what I want most in life is standing right in front of me, offering to love me no matter what? Bear and I have one night to find out…

When it Shines is a steamy, feel good, snowed-in romance featuring a tattooed cinnamon roll hero and all the usual Bad Dog hijinx. It is part of The McGuire Brothers series, but can stand alone.

This Floridian Cannot Accept Alligator

I know the alligator is just there for comic relief, but the alligator inaccuracies made me hate this book. I'm used to the Floridian being portrayed as an idiot; I can deal with that-- we embrace Florida man and don't deny he is one of us. But, it feels from her description as if the author has never even seen an alligator or watched one move, which is unacceptable. Every time she talked about it licking someone, it royally pissed me off. Alligators can't stick their tongues out of their mouth. Most people could pick this up from a quick glance at a photo. Also, she really does nor have a sense of the size of this gator. It's described as a one year old, and yet people are having trouble catching it at the airport. Gators can move quickly only in short bursts. They don't run like lizards. Their bodies are made for movement in water not land, and, sure, this little guy wouldn't have all that much mass to lug around yet, but baby alligators aren't hard to catch. Unless their mama is nearby. The author is already asking me to suspend my disbelief of someone having it as an emotional support animal and that a child would mistake it for a Green puppy. Okay. But, I can't accept the licking and sprinting. Our great state reptile deserves more than this.
