About this listen

Nancy Harmon fled her California home, the macabre deaths of her two children, and the hideous charges brought against her. She changed her name, dyed her hair, and sought refuge in the serenity of a small New England town.

Now, remarried with two new lovely children, Nancy's life is filled with happiness...until the morning when she looks for her children but all she finds is one tattered red mitten and knows that the nightmare is beginning again.

Riveting, quietly intense, then harrowing finale

Could not put this down… basically listening to it non-stop throughout my day running errands, doing chores, etc… A cerebral and emotional roller coaster that’s worth it, I so want to have my whole family over for a listening party. Just to see their faces and reactions.

Wonderful book

I was so excited to find this book on audible. The story was excellent as expected. However, the reader was flat and monotone. I almost did not continue listening, but my interest in Mary Higgins books prevailed. Step up the reader caliber to reflect such wonderful mystery writing. MHC deserves that.

Wish it had been the whole book

it was good. I didn't pay attention when I purchased the book to see that it was an abridged version. I've read the book before, many years ago. From what I can recall, I believe this version captures the essence of the story

KEPT ME WONDERING HOW IT WOULD ALL TURN OUT...

An enjoyable story that kept me interested in the outcome constantly. It's another hit for MHC. It's difficult to review more details without being a spoiler. Well worth the "read"

Now, the narrator - not so much at all. It was my first listen for this narrator and most likely my last.

Abridged First Book

I like Mary Higgins Clark and wanted to start at the beginning. The audiobook is abridged but complete and well done. The narrator has a pleasant voice. The subject matter is rough but I am not going to give a hint of why.
