About this listen

When the girl next door....

Karen's finally decided what she wants to do when she grows up. Too bad it'll mean leaving behind her new neighbor, who's stirred up a different kind of grown-up feelings. But when he rebuffs her attempt to have a fling before she leaves Wardham, Karen knows it's for the best. A clean break, no messy emotional entanglements.

Meets the cop of her dreams....

Intense and private, Paul has recently moved to Wardham for a more family friendly job, leaving behind a career as a homicide detective in the city. He only has his 10-year-old daughter a few nights a week, and he doesn't want any distractions or drama while he tries to repair their relationship.

At exactly the wrong time.

But Karen is right next door, and everywhere he goes. His resolve to keep his distance only lasts until she needs a true friend in her corner, and he realizes he can't imagine life without her.

Where does Where Their Hearts Collide rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really enjoyed this story , both the content of the book as well as the narration.

What did you like best about this story?

The characters were very appealing, and the romance felt believable.

Have you listened to any of Rebecca Roberts’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is the first time I've heard this narrator but I will look for her again.

Any additional comments?

I'm really enjoying this series by Zoe York, though this is the first one I've listened to as an audiobook. Karen's character is very likeable - friendly, engaging, and outgoing though a touch shy, and submissive to her own desires in order to please those around her. Equally Paul is appealing as an attractive, strong, confident and caring single father. The sexual chemistry between them heats things up and the reader gets pulled into the story, hoping there will be some way that a compromise can happen, that they can both get the relationship they are looking for. I also liked how Paul's daughter Megan was an integral part of the story and the realism of how the choices they make will affect her. The ending was well done, in keeping with the story and very satisfactory. The narration brought these characters alive. 4 heartwarming stars.

Sweet and sexy small town romance!

Would you listen to Where Their Hearts Collide again? Why?

I would definitely listen to "Where Their Hearts Collide" again. This is an outstanding story, and very easy to listen to.

What did you like best about this story?

Ms. York did an outstanding job writing about the interaction between all of her characters. I love the way she brings all of the emotions out between all of them, from the love between family, to the love between friends. It shows.

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Roberts – was your favorite?

Ms. Roberts did a wonderful job performing each and every character in the book. She brought out the emotions of each and every part of the book. For instance, at the end of one of my favorite parts of the story when Paul is putting Megan to bed and tells her “Nighty night”, you can hear the exasperation in Megan’s voice when she says “Daaa-ad”.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

As I mentioned earlier, one of my favorite parts is when Megan and Paul are talking about Karen, and she (Megan) asks Paul if he has asked Karen out yet? Then Megan tell him he can’t take her for granted. You can see here that Megan is getting just as attached to Karen as he is.

Any additional comments?
