Former police officer Dean Matheson has been playing it safe since the case that cost him almost everything. But working as a PI doesn’t quite cut it - that is until a British woman walks into his office with a job that Dean can’t resist. The woman’s daughter, Hannah Walker, and her friend Jodie have gone missing whilst working at a ski resort in Colorado. Things are heating up for Dean Matheson!!

This story picks up a couple of years after Dean has left Maple Valley, NH PD and moved to Las Vegas to recover from personal loss. So far, Dean’s work as a private investigator has been boring cases of kidnapped/lost high priced dogs…until a woman walks in and asks for help finding her missing daughter in the small resort town of Lone Creek, Colorado. Detective Eva Valdez is dealing with the loss of her fellow-detective husband, the only way she knows how…return to work. When she pulls the files of two missing 18yo girls, she’s appalled at the shoddy detective work and decides to take a second look. This puts Dean and Eva on a collision course but they team up to solve the case and what a case it is. You will not want this story to end…now on to the next book to catch up with an adversary from book 1!!

I was a hard cell and now I love this author and this narrator

This author has a great way to grab menu the narrator who initially bothered me is it getting better as he gets better with his characters but truthfully it’s worth the growing pains to get to the end because it’s a great written book
