About this listen

Rio

Bryn Wallace had been the one bright spot in my life before my grandparents brought me to live with them. After finding my mother's dead body, my grandparents had picked me up and I started a new life in The Shores, Alabama. It had always bothered me that I never got a chance to tell Bryn goodbye.

Now, seven years later, my memories of the beautiful girl who I considered my first love were destroyed by the disappointment she had become.

Bryn

When life took another nosedive from bad to worse, which happened too often, I would tell myself that one day I'd find Rio March. When my sister had, once again, gotten us forced out of town, I took the money I had saved from working over-time and I made the decision on where we would move. However, fate was never on my side. Within two weeks of arriving in The Shores, Rio hated me and made sure everyone else in town did too. I couldn't even take my nephew into the candy store.

It didn't seem to matter where we moved, this would always be our outcome. Hated, looked down upon, and judged for sins I hadn't committed. But I was done moving. The trashy Wallace girls were in town to stay.

Contains mature themes.

Both narrators voices were annoying… especially the female.
The plot dragged on. I never really became pulled in.
I have 5 star rated 17 of Abbi Glines books but this one was subpar at best. I wish I could return in :/

Both narrators voices were annoying

Listening to the female narrator was rough. Chris Chambers, as always is perfect. The story line was okay, not Abbi’s best.

Not the best

I can’t even finish it! The Narrators are not my fav so that probably makes it even worse.

Not my favorite

You have to listen to the story before this one with Rio and Henly, it was pretty cool to hear Rio’s story

Pretty good

Don’t waste your credit it was an okay story but nothing that really captured or held my attention I always go to Abbi Gomes since I read Rosemary Beach series hoping one of her other stories will capture my attention like those but I’ve been disappointed every time

Just okay

I liked it mostly. I did struggle some with Roe. He is a judgmental a** repeatedly. Not only won’t he just talk to Bryn, he automatically thinks the worst and is vocal about it. He then doesn’t care to look at the possible consequences to his actions no matter what those close to him said.

As for performance, I only had one issue. The narration was great but there is a high pitched noise when it’s quiet. Especially when it announces the chapter.

Good book

The female voice was terrible. I don’t know why, I just didn’t like it. The story was okay, but again I just couldn’t get into it.

It was okay
