Publisher's summary

Aric’s job is simple; assist the elves as they moved dragon eggs across the kingdom.

When an orc raid leaves a dragon in peril and her egg vulnerable, the responsibility falls into Aric’s hands to complete the mission. But when the dragon hatches, Aric’s life is thrown into disarray.

Accused of being the world breaker of an old prophecy by the elves, sought after by the ever-growing orc clans as vengeance against the elves, and desired by the human kings and queens for power, Aric will stop at nothing to protect his new dragon. It may be the only thing that can turn the tides of the war.

Can Aric fight fate and save the world, or is he destined by the whispers of a world breaker?

Excellent debut book

Corey Ratliff has created a very interesting world for us to explore. This is a great debut novel by any measure. It is well written with a great story and interesting characters. I appreciate the lore being paced over the course of the story in what felt like a very natural way. And the lore that we get in the later part of the book makes me anxious for the next book to figure out how this world came to be.
The audio performance could have been better. There is a decent amount of whispering and none of it is a stage whisper, which makes it difficult to catch the first time if you have the volume set at a reasonable level. There also was not enough variation for the female narration.

try to focus on one character

focusing on two or more sometimes gets people confused or cuts back on the immersion of the book and for those who want to try this book it's good I give it a thumbs up

If you like dragons try this audiobook

This is an excellent epic fantasy story. There is a dragon egg to save. A quest that requires bravery, loyalty and boldness. I love dragon stories ever since I read Eragon many years ago. This will not disappoint.

excellent paste, most fantasy books tend to drag or lack depth.

too many cloak and daggers. I like a mystery as much as the next person but it can be a little too much.

Ryan Cahill Lite

Not a bad listen if your just waiting for the next Ryan Cahill book. I could do with less LGBTG stuff, overwhelming and does not help the story at all - just makes awkward and less enjoyable.

The narrator cannot do a woman’s voice to save his life which makes it hard to understand at times!

Hold Fast, To All Dear. A World Breaker, Cometh!

Thought I had experienced, all the dragon tales, I needed, via G.R.R. Martin's, A Game of Thrones. However, new independent author, Corey Ratliff weaves a wicked and interesting tale, of a protagonist who happens upon a dragon's egg, in his already difficult travels and life. What slowly unfolds its wings, is the first novel in the Elmerian Chronicles. This is no ordinary dark fantasy adventure, laced in dragon fire, yet something that challenges conventions, breaks few rules, and makes up its own rules and world building to good. Will do best to not spoil story for any of you. This first book ends on good cliffhanger, leaving you itching for next volume. As an aspiring independent author, myself, I can't wait to see where Corey takes us, next. Who is this Corey guy, anyway? And is Corey Ratliff, the next rising author, of a Brandon Sanderson mold? I will leave that to you to muse. We will see, in good time. Overall, Whispers of a World Breaker is a good, confidently smouldering first dark fantasy novel. It is hard to go wrong, with it. Sound quality is good, and narrator, Jez Sands, gives a good audible, clear voiced tale, over eighteen hours and forty two minutes. Try, Whispers Of A World Breaker, today, (available in ebook, physical book, or audiobooks format) and keep Corey Ratliff, on your long term dragon and epic/dark fantasy radar, lest you perish on dragon teeth, claws and fire. (NOTE: This audiobook was gift provided for review, by Corey Ratliff, himself, so my thanks to him for that. Know this review is written on good mind, and no plagiarism or creative pollute, from his novel works and world, will ever spill into my WIPs, respectfully.) A writer's journey is a difficult one, some do not support me on my journey, but even in the darkest hours of creative loneliness, we must tough it out to a works completion, against all slings and arrows, or our story will never be known. I support Corey Ratliff. Well done, Corey. And I hope Corey Ratliff, will one day support myself, also, with a review in good return. Corey Ratliff's, Elmerian Chronicles has now expanded into eight novels, than his original trilogy novel plan, so I shall look forward to buying and digesting all of them. Am sure given time, Corey's dark world, will gradually grow, on you like a saddle chaffing rash. Be sure to pack enough ointments for healing. It is going to be a really, twisty, turning, long, dark fantasy adventure. Five stars out of five. Novel discovery like Corey's, make the independent novel ebook space, very exciting, indeed. Eagerly looking forward to book two, this concludes my review. Thank you, Audible, Amazon, and Corey Ratliff. A review by, Kevin Haynes.
