About this listen
Why Jermaine highlights some of the impactful encounters that Jermaine Jones has been blessed with over the last 10 years. Ten years ago, Jermaine found himself at his lowest point. Recently being laid off, bills piling up, fighting depression, and wondering why he should even go on - Jermaine decided to make a change. He promised himself and God that if he could fight through these challenges that he would never miss an opportunity to inspire others to make the best of every situation in which they may find themselves.

We all have a longing to be significant. We want to make a contribution, to be a part of something noble and purposeful. But many people wrongly believe significance is unattainable. They worry that it's too big for them to achieve. That they have to have an amazing idea, be a certain age, have a lot of money, or be powerful or famous to make a real difference. The good news is that none of those things is necessary for you to achieve significance and create a lasting legacy.

You did "everything right"--got the degree, the knowledge, the experience, the business plan, the "right" product or service, the optimized website - so why don't more people want what you have to offer? Why don't more people care about it? In this refreshing look at business fundamentals, Vincent Pugliese argues that before you set about gaining the knowledge and experience needed to create something people want to buy, you must become the person that people want to know.

Story
We live in an era of low expectations. In fact, we tend to celebrate low expectations. The way in which we choose to live and work today is a far cry from the purposeful living of our parents. Have we reached the point in our society where it is more important to look good rather than be good? This book reacquaints listeners with the wisdom - the common sense that was practiced simply and unwittingly by those who represent a generation gone by: a generation that worked hard without complaining; a generation that did whatever was necessary to support their families....

In his new audiobook, The Heart-Led Leader, Spaulding turns his focus to ourselves - to who we are. Authentic leaders, Spaulding says, live and lead from the heart. The values and principles that guide our lives and shape our ability to lead others is far more important than our titles or our ability to crunch numbers or the impressive degrees we display on our walls. To effect true transformational change, heart-led leaders draw on the qualities of humility, vulnerability, transparency, empathy, and love.

What type of person comes to mind when you think of an introvert, and what type of person comes to mind when you think of a leader? The two words are rarely linked together. Society often labels people with introverted personalities as at least one of the following: quiet, shy, reserved, or timid. While at the same time leaders are described as dominant, passionate, outgoing, and ambitious.

We often treat the word capacity as if it were a natural law of limitation. Unfortunately most of us are much more comfortable defining what we perceive as off limits rather than what's really possible. Could it be that many of us have failed to expand our potential because we have allowed what we perceive as capacity to define us? What if our limits are not really our limits?

The most uniquely inspirational biography…
In my effort to become my best self, I have read dozens of books, biographies and autobiographies included. When I was recommended to read “Why Jermaine?” I was intrigued to say the least. Here was a man who’s day job was managing NYC Penn station but who’s impact extended nationally and globally to thousands of people who were all similarly touched and captivated by his uncanny commitment to service and his alluring sense of peace. Because of those seed interactions through his “day job” interfacing with passerby’s catching Amtrak, he literally attracted opportunities to serve in C-suites and in front of audiences of thousands. I can’t begin to describe the chills I get from realizing that this was the same man who after losing a job at DHL simply changed his mindset and through hard work and an abiding love of serving others, he karmically and powerfully became one with his Purpose. For anyone who seeks to do God’s work and become their best self, this book is the story of a man who consistently chose the less traveled road to truly become who he was created to be. Thank you, Jermaine. My life is forever changed because of your example and this book, as told by those you have touched.
